Fails to connect after a power loss
I thought it was a one off when it first occurred but after doing some maintenance the other day I had removed power to the unit while we did some re-cabling. When I put power back to the unit the status light flashed constantly and no ports connected at all. I repowered it a few times before walking away for about 30 minutes, on return the status light was still flashing and no ports had connected. I removed all of the connections, repowered the unit and when the status light went solid I plugged in each of the connections again and they connected successfully. I had seen this before but thought it was a one off, now I know there is a problem. Obviously not acceptable to have to remove all of the connections and restart every time we have a power failure so I would expect it to be replaced. I noticed a few others have had similar problems so I am giving this a medium review at this time, its only a few weeks old so should get replaced but Amazon were unable to help, now I am hoping QNAP will replace.Update. QNAP has requested that I RMA the item as they need to replace it. Amazon states they have a 90 day warranty on the item, the truth is they only offer 30 days and expect the seller to give the other 60 days. they would not replace and return so I have to remove the switch from the network and send back, they do not have a replacement and I will have to wait for them to receive the items from me and send out the replacement once they receive stock from Taiwan. If you are planning to purchase this switch do not purchase from Amazon but pay a little more from one of the official QNAP distributors, apparently that would give them more flexibility on replacement if defective is what the support person told me. Also look at the previous reviews I now notice a few people have has issues with the switch dropping ports, if I had seen that before I might not have purchased the item. I am going to have to replace the switch with another one while QNAP can go through the RMA process, that means I will have a spare QNAP switch once this is finished. I am probably going to go for the Mikrotik CRS312-4C+8XG-RM as it is a 10GB switch with enough ports to support my network, plus its a managed switch. I have moved the review down to 1 star because of the problems and would not recommend it to anyone unless you want to carry spare switches in case you see the issues we have seen I am now over $1,000 out of pocket.

Speed and Flxibility
The option to use fibre with SFP+ or CAT7 cables is what we needed. This device also has multimode ports so that we can use 2.5GbE or 5GbE where appropriate without a change the current CAT 5E cabling for specific devices/machines.
