LUCY Doll and ETHEL Doll Giftset

I was so excited when I received the package with the Lucy and Ethel dolls. :] At first I was unsure to buy it because the pictures make them look like they're just puckering their lips, but no :D. They look really good in person! The doll looks just like Lucy with her face and the hair and Ethel looks kinda like the real Ethel (or Vivian Vance).One thing that disappointed me a bit was the little chocolates.. I thought they were going to be like little plastic or rubber mounds, but they're just cardboard paper :[.. Oh well I'm probably not going to open the box anyways ;DOverall, if you're obsessed with the I Love Lucy show (like me), this is something you should really buy!And it's a great buy because it's like 2 for the price of 1 :]

This doll set is in the Pink Label Barbie Collection. Lucy and Ethel are wearing matching pink uniforms with hats and Lucy has pearl earrings and necklace. They have their cheeks bulging with chocolates. They have wide open eyes with hair (not painted on) eyelashes. They are holding squares of paper with a cardboard "chocolate" in their right hands. These are probably removeable since they don't show in the pictures on the website. Lucy says, "Ethel, I think we're fighting a losing game!" in a clip from the show. The doll may say more but I have not opened it to see and the box does not say.This is a cute set for any Barbie collector or lover of I Love Lucy.

I recently purchased "The "Birds" collector Barbie, and it is very nice, so I maybe was expecting a little more from this set of Barbies.The dolls are cute with wide eyes,pursed lips and bulging cheeks... I think even if you would see them without the box you would still recognize them as Lucy and Ethel in the candy factory. The fabric of the dresses is sort of thin looking but nicely detailed with collars, belts, tiny buttons.It is a nice gift for a collector..it is out of the ordinary and everyone loves Lucy.

The dolls are just wonderful. From the first time I saw them in an antique mall, I knew I wanted to have a set. They are so evocative of the I Love Lucy memories that I grew up with. I recently lost my life long childhood friend who was also a Lucy fan and I sent a set of the dolls to her family to brighten their hearts and to help them remember her love of laughter. I got a set for myself too because they will always make me happy.
