There really should be a warning on the packaging reminding customers not to handle these blankets unless you have to put out a fire. Then, the fiberglass shards cutting your skin would be overlooked because hopefully you'll be saving your life. When I received this item, I wanted to check it over, forgetting momentarily what it was made of, scratching my hands, arms and legs with the fibrous material. Of course I will survive, but a warning on the outside packaging would have been helpful.

Love this product and was so glad to have it. My mom got it for each of the kids as a Christmas gift with the hopes that we wouldn’t need to use it, but it came in handy last night when hubby preheated the oven without checking inside! It was easy to use and did its job! I’ve already gone and ordered 3 more just incase because from what I have read, they are not reusable. This product saved my stove, kitchen and family

I DO NOT LIKE THE SHARP FIBERGLASS FEEL. IF YOU TOUCH IT -- FEELS LIKE TINY CACTUS SHARP THREADS.Do not TOUCH or your hands will hurt.NO SO HAPPY THAT THE FABRIC LEAVES SHARDS IN YOUR HANDS.

Actually I have not tried to put out a fire with it. I did test it. I was not able to get it to burn. This is good. I got the multi pack because I wanted to give a few to my neighbors. I even got the neighbors a stick on hook to have the fire blanket on a cupboard near the kitchen sink. (If it is near the stove it might be unreachable when needed due to fire.)Makes an OK gift for people you care about.

The reason I bought two packs was to improve the fire safety of my home. I used one for my kitchen and the other for my car. My main concern is that frying pans can cause problems or the car will burn. I think the easiest way to extinguish the fire is to take away the oxygen. The fire blanket at your fingertips makes the process very simple, which is much better than a fire extinguisher.
