I was also concerned, based on the shape of the LEDs, the light would be mostly focused on two smaller areas. My pessimism was squashed, it distributes the light nicely over a broad area. My light is mounted 20’ above ground level, it lights an 180 degree arc and reaches out 50-60 feet before dimming. IMO, it’s not quite bright enough to grill, fix a car, or play lawn games. But it’s awesome as a motion activated security light. The sensitivity and time adjustments are on a turn knob, allowing complete customization instead of a slide switch with only low medium and high options. This is not a flush (flat) surface mount light; you will need a recessed electric box. My install area was a flush faceboard on the side of my house. I purchased an outdoor rated 5” electrical box, fortunately found a color match, problem solved.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Can this be mounted in the ceiling of the soffit?**
A: You probably need to rotate the motion sensor head about 180 to get the angle correct.  I had to do that.  The unit is labelled for wall mounts, not under the eave mounting.  The way it comes from the factory it is set up for that angle.  Mine would not have worked had I not rotated the sensor head.  It is not easy to do because the nut holding the motion head is thin and inside the light housing where it is hard to grip with pliers.  Moral:  always imagine how you are going to mount the light and then adjust it before you get on the ladder.

**Q: Is this waterproof?  I have seen complaints about the bulbs filling with water.  The wall I need to install on does have exposure during storms.**
A: Because the bulbs are not replaceable they're sealed and therefore waterproof.  The unit as a whole comes with a gasket that you install in the junction box and makea it weather tight. Over time, the material degrades and it becomes necessary to replace it.

**Q: how long does it stay on?**
A: Dear H, there is a rotary switch on the rear of the motion sensor that controls the time on.  I want to say 1-6 min. You can also turn your power switch, which controls the light, off and back on quickly and the light will stay on till reset by turning the power switch off, waiting ten seconds, and turning switch back on. This will restore your previous settings.

**Q: Is this made in China?**
A: Really good question. They want to keep it as a secret,l look everywhere and didn’t find out where it was it made, unfortunately it probably made in China.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ About what you should expect

This has only been installed a week, so take my review with that grain of salt. I will however update if my opinion changes. Got it on sale for around 30 and I feel it was a good value for the money. It has a cool crisp light that you expect from most LED products and illuminates for what I would consider a standard security light distance. It is comparable to the security light it replaced that had 65W incandescent bulbs. The install kit was your standard fair, which means it does the job, but can sometimes frustrate with trying to get all the wire placement just right so that everything goes together as it should. I'm deducting a star because of the metal "hood" that covers each bulb was loose. One of the covers seemed to tighten if I twist it, while the other would just spin freely. If the cover that is more loose loosens any more, it will probably become an issue with holding onto water instead of shielding the lens. TL:DR - Your standard motion activated security light with LEDs instead of heavy incandescent bulbs. Minor construction flaw, would recommend.
