I bought these and a couple of the filters the water goes through the filter very fast. Is this a defect in the filter? Is the water still filtering

Came here to report the same problem. I have bought these replacement filters via Amazon previously, and DID NOT have this problem as I do with this latest batch. I have the filters well seated in the chamber (They absolutely will only fit properly ONE way. They will not even insert otherwise) The only water that is passing into the reservoir, is coming out through the four exit holes at the bottom of the filter. It's just that the water is coming through the filter is draining very very fast. Again; I am comparing this to the filters that came with the unit, and filters that I had also purchased previously. I am hesitant to reorder these filters via Amazon again.

Have the Grand Brita but am not sure what size filter to purchase. Are there different ones?

As far as I know, there are 3 types of Brita replacement filters - (1) For on-tap faucet; (2) For pitcher; (3) For soft squeeze water bottle. Their form/shape are very different. For your Grand Brita, (2) is what you need - that is what I have been buying for my pitcher too.

How well does the filter remove the chlorine taste in some city water?

After it rains, my city, Orange, CA. really pours in the chlorine. The smell hits you deep in the back of the nose and the water you wanted to drink, gets poured down the drain. The Brita water filter completely eliminated this foul stench, and also made the water taste pretty darn good! I highly recommend the Brita filter. The filter also lasts a lot longer than I expected it to.

Does this filter work with the UltraMax?

No, not all filters are the same. I ordered these and they do NOT fit my UltraMax. I'm glad my daughter has the Brita pitcher so that I can give these to her, but I'm still looking for something that will work in the UltraMax.
