TANG-A Childhood Favorite!
Imagine my delight when I discovered Tang on Amazon! Yes it’s sweet and not real juice but I just don’t care! I drink it now and then and really enjoy it. It mixes easily and tastes great. It’s at a good price point too!

Convenient drink option with good flavor
I bought these soft drink mixes to keep at work and for quick drinks at home, and overall I’ve really enjoyed them. The flavors taste refreshing and mix easily into water without leaving too much powder at the bottom. I also like that they’re convenient to carry around and help me drink more water during the day. There are several flavor options, which keeps things interesting. However, some flavors are sweeter than I expected, so I usually add a little more water than recommended. A few packets also clumped slightly before mixing completely. Still, they’re a simple and tasty alternative to bottled drinks and very convenient for busy days or travel

Tasty, but WAY OVERPRICED! $4.90??? -- Come on people, it's just flavored sugar!
After having gone through chemo for cancer I found that there were very few foods or drinks I could tolerate the taste of anymore, Tang is one. I drink it CONSTANTLY despite the fact that it is just artificially colored sugar water and I usually consume only organic, when possible. I credit the Kraft company for making a tasty drink, but THE PRICE! Come on people, give us a break! Holy mackerel! $4.90, (as of June 20th, 2026), for flavored sugar water??? :-( When I first started buying it it was $3-something. How about, #1: Lowering the price and, #2, making a sugar-free version in bulk, (with a commensurate bulk price). I asked AI for a recipe for a Tang substitute, here it is.... Dry Mix for Natural Tang-style Drink — Allulose -sweetened, (or a sweetener of your choice). Yield when reconstituted: 2 gallons Ingredients (dry) 1 1/2 cups freeze-dried orange powder (100% orange, no sugar/oil) 1 1/3 cups Allulose (packed lightly) 3 tablespoons citric acid 1 tablespoon powdered malic acid (optional) 1/4 cup powdered bulking agent (optional: inulin or tapioca maltodextrin) 1–2 teaspoons powdered natural orange extract or orange oil encapsulate (optional) NO SALT - Notes about salt: salt is optional — it rounds and enhances flavor, but omit it if you must avoid sodium. Instructions Combine all dry ingredients in a large bowl and whisk thoroughly to blend and break up clumps. Transfer to an airtight container and store in a cool, dry place. Reconstitution (to make 2 gallons) I haven't tried it yet, good luck! :-)

Tang-flavored Meringue Kisses turned out well
I used the Tang powder to flavor meringue kisses. With the help of ChatGpt, I altered my standard recipe to allow for the sugar and citric acid in the Tang. For 3 egg whites: * 100 g fine-ground sugar * 6 g Stevia in the Raw * 12 g Tang, finely powdered * 0 g cream of tartar * Orange gel coloring as desired The meringues have a delightful flavor and exceptionally well structured shapes, thanks to the citric acid.
