great for esl students
i got this book for an esl student that i tutor and she said it was very helpful. in fact, her brother who's english is a little better than hers also liked it and said it helped him understand some idioms he had heard from his american friends. my student had no problems understanding the book and the explanations for each of the idioms.

Great for teaching how language is not always concrete
Wonderful fun examples of how funny language is. Really helped autistic child decipher some phrases that are not concrete in a humorous way. Great way to start a conversation about what people say vs what they mean

May Help Understand ASDs Better
Received book promptly.Never realized how others have had difficultynwith way some people speak, kind of like riddles to me.Oh,if ASDs were ever truly understood instead of yelled at for being different.

Insightful
Written from the inside out, it is enlightening. It was sent to a relative who lives with a child on the spectrum.

Needs more
A great little book with a small number of examples. I read the entire book in less than 5 mins so don't feel like I got value for money. Sorry.

Made us giggle lots
This book was great. My son and I had such a good time comparing what you thought things meant, against what He thought things meant (for example, "You're Fired!" he thought the picture would be of someone on fire and he was very pleasantly surprised with your canon picture). Even for family members, teachers, and friends without Autism, this book is a wonderful read that will surely bring smiles and giggles from everyone. Thank You!!!

Very good book, but too short.
Easy to read. Perfect to understand. I think as a Non- English born person , the phrases are understood very good. But the price is too high for this short execution.

Un amusement
Ludique et facile. On mémorise ainsi toutes sortes d'expressions typiquement anglaises. Ce côté simple et amusant permet de garder en mémoire ce qui nous manquait tant

Helpful funny book and translation tool for those with ASD.
Purchased "It's Raining cats and dogs" for our ten year old daughter who is diagnosed with ASD. This book is firstly very helpful for those with concrete thinking and who are bewildered by all of the strange saying which we use in everyday speech. This book will definitely help our daughter translate those saying which we all use and she is planning on taking it to school to use like a dictionary to help her understand what people mean to say.The other fantastic aspect of this book is that it helps reinforce that people with ASD can achieve success and the author who also has High Functioning Autism is a really good role model for our daughter any any one else with ASD.The language used is very clear and the pictures really help to described what's being said as well as being very funny. Our daughter loves this book and I would definitely recommend it to any one with ASD.
