Disk came fast! Loved the movie

I recieved my copy of the "Kill Bill Volume 1" Cd yesterday, and immediately socked it into the car stereo to listen to on my way to work... Well, I'll tell ya... From the opening notes of Nancy Sinatra's take on "Bang Bang" to the "Ironside Theme" exerpt, I was totally BLOWN AWAY by the sound quality and song selection. As a musician who records his own music, I'm fairly critical about the sound quality of the Cds I collect. Most of them come from the 60's "Psychedelic" era I grew up with and were transfered from old analog tape masters... Some sound better than others, and I give them quite a bit of leeway considering the available recording methods at that time. However, I expect a certain clarity from "Modern Era" digital recording methods in my 'newer' stuff... On the "Kill Bill Volume 1", whoever did the sound levels and mixing, did a FANTASTIC job! I found myself bopping around in the drivers seat to the music as I drove to work. My favorite songs are: ."Run Fay Run" (Issac Hates)- The Song grabs you from the first note, and doesn't let go. ."Twisted Nerve" (Bernard Herrmann) - Spooky and deiicious! ."Woo Who" (The 5,6,7,8s) - Goofy as hell, and a cool drum solo that you can't hear very well in the film. ."The Lonely Shepherd" (James Last & Gheorghe Zamfir) - Builds and builds in layers of emotion. ."Green Hornet" (Al Hirt) - I defy anyone to listen to this without tapping your toes to it! I will be listening to this for a long time to come... Great production, Great music, Great song selection! One word of caution, though... Do not play the 'Queen of the Crime Council' dialog track in front of young children because it is EXTREMELY explicit! I highly recommend this Cd to soundtrack and music lovers alike! It's all KILLER, NO FILLER! Peace.

De manera aislada, cada track pertenece al recuerdo individual de cada espectador, pero en conjunto son geniales, dentro de la cultura pop no volveremos a encontrar una mezcla tan significativa.

I recommend this CD for anyone captivated by the movie; it's great from beginning to end with one notable exception. The CD contains the entire tracks of several pieces of music that are only heard in excerpt in the actual movie, including a 10-minute version of "Don't Let Me Be Misunderstood" (which kinda gets old after a while, but overall it's a cool tune). "Battle without Honor or Humanity" is the instrumental played when Oren Ishii and her personal bodyguards (including Gogo, the bodyguard dressed as a Japanese schoolgirl) are walking in slow-motion as they enter the House of Blue Leaves (one of my favorite scenes in the movie, for some reason). "Flower of Carnage" is, despite its title, a beautiful ballad in Japanese. (I wonder how the lyrics translate?) The only track on the CD that I dislike (and I strongly dislike it) is "Ode to Oren Ishii" by RZA, which is a rap song about Oren that sounds like it was written by a five-year-old, so lame are the lyrics. "I wanna dedicate this song right here to O-Ren Ishii, Half Chinese/Half Japane-see, Half American." Half Chinese, half Japanese, half American . . . is that mathematically possible? And ryhming "Ishii" with "Japane-see" -- is "Japane-see" a real word? Sorry, but the song annoys me! My only other quibble is with the sound effects at the end of the CD (axe throws and sword swings): they don't sound like axe throws and sword swings; rather, they merely sound like electronic noise, which clearly works fine in the movie, but at only a very few seconds each these little sound bytes don't add anything to the CD. I'm complaining too much, though -- 95 percent of the CD is terrific, so I say buy it!

This soundtrack is exceptional. Great sounds!

Wenn man den Film und den Soundtrack kennt, muss man nicht viel dazu schreiben bzw. lesen. Meiner Meinung nach eines der besten Filmsoundtracks, die es gibt. Umso schöner jetzt die CD dazu zu besitzen.
