This is my first experience with berberine. I read that it had similar effects as popular weight loss meds like Ozempic or Wegovy. This is how I found out about berberine. My insurance is denying all the medications for weight loss so I decided to try this out. I started taking them Feb. 8, 2025. This review is being written April 1, 2025. In that time I've lost ~50 pounds. Which sounds like a lot, but I'm a VERY large man. So don't get too excited. Along with starting to take berberine I adjusted my diet significantly (this is probably the most important part). I completely cut out carbs and sugar (not counting apples and bananas, other fruit). I increased the protein and veg intake. NO BREAD!!! NO DESSERTS!!! NO SODIE POPS!!! Over time I found that I do not crave food as much. I feel full sooner. My food intake has decreased quite a bit. Taste buds have changed and food tastes better. Milk is sweet now. Its all very exciting. Now, all this does come with a price. Like many others have expressed there is a slight bit of stomach discomfort. I've felt nauseous and have had to run to the bathroom multiple times and it wasn't to vomit. Whatever came out of me was from the depths of Hell. It was NOT solid. It is the total opposite of solid, if you catch my drift. And at first, I didn't read the symptoms and made mistakes but over time you start to feel it before it happens. So, it IS manageable. However, I would not take this on a road trip, a long movie/play, at work, school, etc... Unless you can handle a stream of waste that feels like your butt is a super soaker. So, there is risk involved. Everyone will react differently. All in all, I will continue taking this. I feel like the benefits outweigh the gastric drawbacks. I am ready to lose another 50 pounds and then some. My advice... try it out. You might be surprised.

This is the first supplement out of 100's that I have tried that had an instant effect on my blood sugar. I have even tried other Berberine, some much more expensive, to no avail. This Berberine by Now instantly brought my numbers down. I have been wearing a CGM and could see the results immediately. It's a large pill, but it's coated and easy to swallow. No odor, no taste. I haven't experienced any side effects that others have mentioned. I have taken it with food, without food, after a meal, in the middle of a meal, no issues. It just works. I am amazed. I look forward to seeing what my A1C does after continuous use. I'm determined to not become a diabetic, and I'm fighting insulin resistance. It's so amazing to take a supplement and be able to see immediate, measurable results after spending so much on other supplements that did nothing. Being able to see it work on the CGM is all I need to ensure that I remember to take it. I even have packed it in my lunchbox so it's available to me at work. I will update after I get labs again.
