Not durable for foot traffic.
7-12-14 -- I needed a particular configuration to catch drips in my kitchen. I did not remove the backing, but taped the squares together underneath in the right shape. I didn't want to get permanent glue on my vinyl kitchen tiles in case the scheme didn't work out. The carpet tiles are extremely lightweight, not suitable for high traffic areas. 8-3-14 -UPDATE-- Unfortunately the carpet tiles have already begun to scuff, and the $20 per box seems way overpriced. As they weren't bad enough to throw in the trash, I restored them to individual tiles, shampooed each one with my handy-dandy Bissell Spotbot from Amazon, and will donate them to a thrift store. These very lightweight tiles would be great, for instance, to line a box and protect items that might get scratched or broken, but for any kind of floor use they are not cost-effective at any price. Carpet squares are a great idea, but the thick ones cost too much as well.

Effective for my use of the tiles
I purchased a dog ramp from Amazon which was a good purchase. It had a skid resistant surface but my 77 lbs dog, scratched the surface considerably which seemed that she was slipping on it and the ramp started looking bad because the scratches were white on the black surface. I decided to buy a box of the peel and stock berber carpet tiles which fit perfectly on the dog ramp. It worked great for the dog because there was no more slipping. However, I live in the Palm Springs desert where the summers are over 100 degrees for about 4 months and this ramp was always in my car trunk. The tiles started falling off, only because of the excessive heat. I don't think that would happen in ordinary temperatures or situations. I bought some epoxy and now the tiles are on for good. Four tiles are a perfect fit for this dog ramp and it makes it look good as well. Definitely worth the money.

Carpet tile
Paper was hard to take off some of the tiles. It seemed like it was a box at a time that was hard to peel.

Very thin would not put on a floor.
These are ok for a wall or something but I would not put them on a floor. All the other reviews saying that they are too thin are spot on.Calling these carpet would be more than generous, bordering on fictional. These are more like a heavy felt than carpet.Maybe putting them on a wall for sound deadening or decoration would be a more realistic use.

Peel and Stick Carpet Squares Save DIY Cat Tree
I purchased these peel and stick squares to complete a DIY cat tree I had made out of the a wooden ladder and pine shelving lumber. Stained and polyurethaned it and it looked great. Then after about a week the cat miscalculated a jump from one level to another, slipped on the smooth surface and fell about 5 feet onto the floor. It is not true that cats always land on their feet. I liked the idea of low profile carpet squares and on searching I found these. Ideal because I did not have to purchase so many. One box was enough to apply to all three tree levels with a couple to spare. I completed the install a couple months or so ago and they have held up very well.

Easy to install, great adhesion, not very thick though for a berber.
I like everything about these carpet tiles, except the lack of thickness. I passed up cheaper brands for this, thinnking the berber would have more depth to it.. It's doesn't. I am disappointed in the fact that it is as thin as in outdoor carpet.

Not the sturdiest
Not the sturdiest carpet tiles but they accomplished what I needed. I used them to line the wheel well of my RV and I also used them to line the window edges on the doors of my RV so my dog wouldn't scratch everything up when putting his head out the window. They are easy to cut and place but I wouldn't put them on any well walked areas. They won't hold up well.

It's a shame because I really do like the tiles
I ordered 2 sets which should have been the same shade of grey. They were not- so after much ado, the squares had to be staggered. This gave me less than satisfaction with how the results should have been. It's a shame because I really do like the tiles. And no I could not wait for an exchange to do my project. So I like them but could have loved them.
