we bought this due to the easy to clean and being no toxic. it looks great on the wood floor and we really appreciated the video another client posted to see the varnish work in action.

Of the water based finishes we tried for our project , this brand stood out. It looks milky but dries to a crystal clear, slightly amber color. Unlike some others it gives wood a bit of an inner glow . It is easy to apply. Please note the satin finish is a little shinier than some other satins, but not glossy.

Great stuff but too expensive

That is a big plus. Makes it easy to work inside on your project.

This product is very easy to use and even easier to clean up tools after using. I was a complete novice when I started finishing a bed. This product was very forgiving. I tinted the varnish with the same color I used to stain and that, too, helped to minimize a lot of my beginner mistakes. Everyone who sees the finished product comments on how nie it looks. I will be using this product line for my future projects.

Lasted about two months before it started to show marks of wear. Now it's been three months and needs to be refinished. The coating does not stand up to heavy traffic as advertised. Not worth the investment.

Amazing stuff!!! Dries lightning fast and perfectly. Little to no smell even when being applied. Love the finish. I've been using Saman for many years now and it's all I will use.

We used these to put a durable finish on our 30-year old stair treads following a good fill & sand and have to say I loved it right away. It went on like a dream (it does appear milky at first, but then dries beautifully clear) and dried very quickly. I was able to do a light sand and re-coat after 1 hour. I waited another 2 hours before doing a 3rd coat -- and here's the thing(!) -- when I did a light sanding after the 2nd coat, I found that it was hard to get the sand paper to rough up the surface. So that told me right away that this was going to do exactly what it was advertised to do. So far, so good. It's been over a week and no issues whatsoever. Hardly used any of the product on 8 stairs, 3 coats of finish. So I have plenty left for future projects and am looking forward to using it again!

Goes on really easily and doesn't make a mess on hands or clothes. Thinner and clearer than I expected and doesn't make wood quite as shiny as I expected but no biggie. I have baseboards made of rough wood that is hard to clean. Putting this one sort of smooths the wood out and makes it easier to clean. More coats than I put on would probably make surfaces shinier too. I love that it's Canadian.

The media could not be loaded. No odors. No stickiness, easy clean up, fast delivery. Product was sideways and lid not tight so it leaked. I called the company, not Amazon. They have nothing to do with this reseller but said they'd help me if Amazon doesn't. I used the product bc I didn't want to wait for a return. Nice that it's Canadian. It's really nice to work with and levels well with fine sanding. Does not attract dust. 2 coats seems sufficient for my needs. I will continue to use this brand now and am very happy with the product!

This finishing product slides on smoothly. I have no problem with that. IF I'd needed a semi-satin-shiny finish, it would be lovely. HOWEVER, I needed and purchased FLAT for a very specific, spatula-painted, distressed, furniture piece.When this 'flat' finish dried, it was shiny! Now I have to carefully sand the crevasses, not disturbing the edges somehow, and also source another finish that is acually flat. A little frustrated!(Sorry. Pictures aren't great.)

Spent a day degreasing and sanding down my railing. Afterwards degreased and used varsol to wipe everything down again. Waited a day for the varsol to evaporate completely. Spent a few days applying 4 coats of saman gel stain to get a nice dark rich color. Allowing plenty of dry time. Applied one coat of the related saman waterbased satin varnish and after it dried followed instructions to scuff gently with 180 grit. On the second coat after allowing to dry i repeated the process to scuff again with 180 grit as recommended and all the dried varnish started to flake off completely destroying all the effort i put in for days to get the perfect finish. Now i have to sand everything down and start all over. Im absolutely defeated right now. The can that was sent was a metal lid and metal container. Nowhere on samans website or on amazon is there a picture of a metal container for the varnish. Its supposed to be black plastic. I bought the saman gel stain from rona and it worked great. Probably should have bought the varnish there too. Maybe i was sent old discontinued product. Absolutely unacceptable. Amazon of course handled the refund but that doesn't undo the damage done to my project.
