Back saver
I have a bad back .. I love to camp .. ironic huh ?This seat makes car camping a totally new and ( almost ) pain-free experience ( way too big to hump into the woods )Very very well-made, strong straps and adjustment locks, nice mesh pocket on back for smaller items ( a book/ magazine, phone, flip flops, ..... ) carry strap, good color, comfortable and well worth the moneyI use this at picnic tables, on a footprint, and even inside my tent - just put an el-cheapo gardening sponge mat from the dollar store down first, and you have a camp reclinerGreat for lifting knees to stretch out small of back whIle sitting comfortably in a small areaThis has extended my enjoyment of the outdoors for yearsIf you have back pain, you understand already - if not, buy this before you get back pain

BACK REST!
I especially like how slim and portable this seat is. Its not the most comfortable but being able to just strap this thing up and have a seat on some random log in the woods with a back rest is a game changer. And its light weight design really is the cherry on top, i know theres much better quality stuff out there but if anyone is reading, you need to decide wether you want a 8lb bulky but comfortable version or this lightweight average comfortable and super portable version.. i highly recommend it especially if its gonna be your first one, if you have used more supported ones you may want to look into the upgraded canoe version of this seat, it offers much more padding and a better back rest buttt the trade off is its a metal frame, not as slim or portable, still portable but definitely more supportive then this.. the price is what makes this seat a great option! Its held up well with over a year of heavy use on probably over 50 logs and bench type seats

Very pleased
Sitting on bleachers for even the smallest amount of time kills my back. We don't attend a lot of settings that offer bleacher seating but when we do, I need something to support my back. I was looking for something lightweight and not too bulky that I could keep in my vehicle at all times. This works great. My back is supported, it's not cumbersome to carry and it doesn't take up much room in my vehicle. A+

Great Canoe Seat and Campfire Chair
I didn't know what to expect from this purchase, we were looking for canoe seats that would attach to the chair of the canoe and as such be easy to keep attached for portaging, while also serving us as seating at camp. These were great. Much more comfortable than I expected them to be. I would even find myself picking these over the hammock to sit in while I was reading in the afternoon. They were a great price and they seem to be very well made. I really appreciated the mesh pocket at the back also, great to keep a bottle of water in while we were canoeing (kept it from floating all over the bottom of the boat in the dirty lake water).

Awesome for recreational canoeing
These work really well for family outings on the canoe. I can see them working for sports outings and sitting in the woods/tent camping. They are very light and not too bulky for backpacking.

Why have I waited?
I worked at an outdoor outfitter 30 years ago. Thermarest chairs were the thing back then. Why did I ever wait so long? Oh, I just said it. Because way back when it would have taken about a hundred bucks (~$200 now) to get yourself set up with something like this. A person had to buy the pad and then the chair thing separately. For a fraction of the price, you can sit your tired self down next to the fire with all the other tired, weary campers and lean back on something. Ahhh. This is one of those 'Thank You, China' items that you just can't imagine you ever lived without until you have one.I figured out that if you roll it up, take the straps and cross them over the open part, buckle them in an 'X' pattern and cinch them down it keep it rolled up perfectly and you can use the handle to carry it.

It works.
I bought it for Bonnaroo this year, and it worked out pretty well (anyone going to Bonnaroo needs one of these IMHO). It's not the most comfortable of seats, but my major objection is that the back tends to collapse on me. I've tried a number of the strap settings, but it keeps collapsing. For the record, I am 6'1" and 170lbs. Perhaps my height and weight are contributing.Side note:I'm a pretty skinny guy, but I can't imagine how someone more heavyset would fit into this seat. It's very narrow.Pros:WorksInexpensiveComfortable enoughCons:Back keeps collapsing. There were very few settings with the straps that 'kinda' worked.

Quality and practicality in a well made seat
Used this on a 14-day canoe trip on the Green River. The straps underneath held it securely on the seat even in 40 mph wind and some very energetic paddling. At night I just folded the back down, so the seat stayed mostly dry and free of the blowing sand. The back mesh pocket was very convenient to store sunscreen and other needed items within easy reach. Side straps adjust easily to provide some back support. Cleaned up nicely at the end of the trip.

Lightweight and convenient
Definitely supports the back; would be better with a waterproof seat.

Five Stars
This thing is so awesome and portable. I've used this so many times, especially canoeing, pull the straps tight and it's fully supportive. People clearly don't know how to use this thing if they're leaving bad reviews. If you want to sit up straight then the straps need to be tighter then that to support your weight. Pull tighter then you want and then lean back.

My favorite
I've bought about 8 stadium seats/chairs, and this one is the one I used the most. It provides the most support when leaning back in it aggressively, and it's comfortable and easy to carry. Now - if only some company would make a seat a few inches taller ....
