Great little timer.
Great timer but they want you to download a sketchy app for ease of use.

very difficult to use
It took me about 25 minutes to figure out how to set the clock, let's just start there. It is clear this was designed by a programmer and that a regular designer was never involved in the UI/UX, which is a shame. Here's the deal. The box itself has very few buttons or functions and they don't exactly function the way it says they do in the little paper manual. So there's an app you can get and it has very few downloads and the reviews are bad. Also it doesn't disclose what it wants access to which is a huge red flag in my opinion. But anyway I installed the app.(The app is terrible. It behaves like a proof of concept, not as something that is consumer ready. The overall product UI/UX is absolutely unacceptable. but it's the app that scared me. The app has some red flags security wise and I ultimately wasn't comfortable having it installed on my phone so after the initial round of tests I removed the app and have been trying to use the device with just the onboard functionality.)Example: it seems like the app doesn't work at first, but if you read the documentation leaflet very closely you can kind of figure out how the app connects to the device. It is very simple, but it is the opposite of how other apps connect devices and it isn't quite like what the documentation says will happen. I was only able to figure it out with trial and error.Once I got it connected I was able to set the clock. I don't know. But the app made me uneasy. At the same time I didn't know how else to use the device.Once I got the clock set I then configured a 7 minute tabata just to do a quick test and see how it would work. That worked great.Like I said earlier the app made me really uncomfortable. So now when I want to use the device I just use the basic defaults. Example - if I want to do a tabata session I just use the default :30 / :30 and it starts counting up to 99 rounds. I just stop it when I hit the intended number of rounds. I don't really want :30 / :30 but thats all I can do without the app.The device itself is has a lot of potential but someone needs to do a major overhaul on the app for this to be a complete solution that I can recommend.
