Purchased this to lay on top of an area rug so my 6 month old has a larger play mat to roll around and crawl on on the floor. It's really soft, not super thick like a comforter, but thick enough to provide some cushion for him. I would still lay some pillows around him if he were sitting up and there was a chance that he could fall over - it's not meant to provide that kind of cushion. Perfect for what I was looking for.

Absolutely love love love this, I love that you can wash it and that the back is slip proof, and that’s a big on the safety list! I think it’s very comfortable for babies but if you have hard wood and plan on laying with your baby, it’s not so cushy for us, but it fits perfectly in my 50x50 play pen and the floral pattern was exactly what I was looking for as there are hardly in that pattern, so the color was exactly what I wanted and it folds neatly when you need to put it away

Very soft and full of cushioning. We have used this on our wood floor and folded in half for a wonderful bottom in the portacrib for our great grandchild. We would definitely buy this again. Originally purchased for a large floor containment so she could roll around and play with freedom of movement and safety. The floor containment was too large for our area. Yes, we measured before purchasing, and we thought it would work wonderfully, but it didn’t. Washes nicely and we would buy again if we needed another.

It’s not as thick, but it does give comfort and good for a baby to crawl around. I placed foam mats underneath for more cushion in case the baby falls, but she discovered a way to flip the mat over. I love the feel of it. I recommend it.

so first off, definitely not what I would call a pad. It's more of a thick blanket with grippy material on the bottom. That's why 4 stars. HOWEVER, it is very soft and comfortable. Easily something that I'm ok with her napping on if absolutely necessary. Just glad our playpen came with a foam pad so we can use both.

I'm really happy with this mat. Good quality and soft. I've already washed it twice and it was easy to clean. Other reviews said it was too thin and I don't agree. It's a perfect thickness for a baby to play on. I added a felt mat underneath to make it even more comfortable. Great quality for the price in my opinion.

Just a heads up if you have a 79x59 playpen this does not fit completely or perfectly in it. I realized after I ordered and put it in our playpen that it is a few inches off of the size of the plate pen which is 79x59 Just wanted to make this review so other parents don't have to make the she mistake for the price. Honestly it's just a blanket like quite thin and not thick.

This play mat does not match the advertisement, it is not thick at all. It also is too big for the playpen even though it was the suggested option by Amazon to purchase along with the playpen.
