Excellent recipes and clearly authentic
Written by a 4th generation Indian Tanzanian, this book reflects Tanzanian urban cuisine today. The recipes are clear, easy to follow, and the selections are excellent.

Maybe modern East African recipes
More like Western version of East African food. Been to East Africa so know their food very well. They use alot of coconut milk but no dairy.

Really tasty meals which are straightforward to make.

Interesting blend of many cuisines
Interesting take on many classics, but I’ll be honest wasn’t exactly what I was hoping for when I bought the book. More a melange of different dishes coming from several cooking traditions, but I knew nothing about east Africa. I think over half the recipes are chicken based. It’s modern not traditional, so keep in mind.
