super fit and comfort, but beware of sweaty feet
In my house, I grew up with no shoes or slippers in the house. My podiatrist said that I shouldn't do that anymore AT ALL, but I said I couldn't give up being barefoot. So I started wrapping my feet. I used the Futuro Wrap Around Ankle Support, Medium because it has a sleeve for the foot to slip into, and then an attached elastic bandage that I could wrap under my heel for added support. However, I found that they were a little too tight, and my podiatrist recommended and sold me a pair of Fabrifoam PSC Left -Small . They are insanely comfortable, so much so I can wear them all day and sleep in them, but the edges of the straps curl and roll under if you walk on them, so I started shopping for alternatives.I bought two Tuli's Cheetah Heel Protector, One Size Fits All -- one for each foot. When I feel discomfort in my feet, I wear them around the house in the place of slippers; this probably isn't the intended use, but I would recommend them to people who don't like wearing shoes all the time but need heel support. They include an additional heel cup, which could be a replacement if needed, but I would sometimes wear them inside the Protector to increase the elevation of my heel. The two things I liked about the product is (1) the design, and (2) that it is one-size fits all. I have wide toes and a small ankle, so the Futuro would cut off circulation over time, so I wanted something with similar structure but that was comfortable to wear for prolonged use like the PSC straps. The Cheetah Heel Protector is a neoprene sleeve with a silicone heel cup stitched onto the outside. The stitches look scant, but they're really securely sewn. and fits to the skin well, and the velcro straps are very easy to adjust, while the silicone heel is tacky so it doesn't slip on carpet or tile. The design of Cheetah Heel Protector is a basically a toeless slipper sock with a heel, that conveniently adjusts to the size of your foot. Because my ankle is really small, the straps can wrap around the back of my foot, but I found that if I followed the angle of the straps featured in the picture, it's always a good fit and never too tight. Also, the material doesn't cling to odors or dirt like cotton elastic bandages, so you can wear them more times between washes. But the same thing that makes them so comfortable is also kind of a problem because the materials don't really breathe. I don't think my feet sweat above average, but when I wear these for any period of time, my feet are guaranteed to sweat. It can make a potentially embarrassing squeaky noise, but you can actually slip, which I have. At first I thought it was because I wasn't use to wearing them, but once I took them off and my foot and the material felt moist, I figured out I had actually slipped on the inside of the sleeve. You can't see it in the picture, but if you turned the Protector inside out, there's a small circular cut out in the heel of the neoprene sleeve which exposes a small circle of smooth surface of the silicone heel cup below. Moisture collects on inside the sleeve around the base of my foot, especially around the heel and on top of this cut out, and the silicone becomes slippery. I mentioned sometimes wearing the additional cup for increased elevation, but then you have a smooth surface under the entire heel of your foot; when you sweat, then you have more area where you can lose traction, and the slip is worse. So I don't use those nearly as much as I did when I first got them, even though I do find them more comfortable with them in their -- I only had to have one near-bad-slip before I decided it wasn't worth the risk. Because I can work from home, sometimes I don't leave my house at all in a day, but now when I'm not actively standing or walking around, I take them off and let them dry out (which they do pretty quickly if you turn them inside out).To sum up -- super comfortable, great fit and support for the heel, but be a little careful if you intend to wear them for long periods of time or if you know you're prone to sweat. Great for Sever's - Instant Relief
My 12 year old daughter's left heel was killing her after a weekend of soccer games. She has suffered from Sever's (heel pain during a growth spurt) several times in the last 2 years. After 2 days of icing and resting but still limping and in a lot of pain just when walking, we went to our local medical supply store and purchased one of these. As soon as she put it on, she had instant relief and could walk normally with no pain at all. Normally I would be skeptical if I read this in a review, but it was amazing how quick it worked! She limped into the store and was able to walk out normally! She wore it for 2 days straight, even sleeping in it and was able to go to soccer practice on the 3rd day. We purchased the Medium heel protector. I am glad that I had the opportunity to have her try it on in the store, I would have been inclined to order a small - my daughter wears a size 5-6 shoe and is 75 pounds with a very small frame. The Small size would not go on her foot at all. The medium was a challenge to get on, but once it is on it fits perfectly, not too tight or loose. She was able to wear the heel protector with her tennis shoes to school, however, when we tried it with her soccer cleats, it made her shoe fit too snugly and I was worried about her getting another injury from wearing her shoes too tight so she practiced without it. She had minimal pain during practice (she rated it a 2 on a scale of 10). We iced her foot after practice and put the heel protector back on and she is able to walk with no pain. I ordered a 2nd heel protector on amazon (a few dollars cheaper than the medical supply store) because I forsee that she could possibly need to wear 2 at the same time since I have a feeling her right heel may start hurting during this growth spurt. I am trying to decide if I should look for soccer cleats that these will work with, but at this point, it is really helping her to wear it all times except when she is on the soccer field.

It works but it's far from perfect.
I cannot get the heel cup to sit centered under my foot. If the brace is centered so that the straps and neoprene are smooth and wrap properly around my ankle, then the heel cup is at an angle. If the heel cup is centered and straight, then the brace and straps are cock-eyed and it bunches up awkwardly where the straps connect. Maybe mine is manufactured crookedly? With that being said, it is still the best option so far that I have found to relieve pain from a heel spur. It also offers some mild compression on the ankle, which is nice due to it being weak from multiple sprains. I wouldn't call it support though.I also struggle like everyone with keeping it clean. I can see the layer of beige wanting to peel of the black. I'm very hesitant to get it wet and throw $27 down the drain. I spray it with a deodorizing foot spray which helps but doesn't replace washing.I find this item to be overpriced given it's imperfections, inability to properly clean it, and the fact that it is made of plastic and neoprene. It's a very good concept but needs tweaking.

Saved My Foot
One evening I started having horrible foot pain out of the blue. I ignored it - but the pain continued to grow through the evening and about 2 AM I was seriously considering a trip to the ER. It was that bad.It calmed down a bit, so after I called for an appointment to see a foot specialist I came onto Amazon to see if they had any type of item for heel pain and after doing a bit of research, I settled on this. Being a member of Amazon Prime, I had it the next day and it saved my foot. I put it on and it was almost instant relief. The material is almost a neo-prene, snug, but stretchable. If you're worried about it being tight on your foot, no need to worry as you can easily slide a finger or two between the item and your skin. It's loose fitting but snug, if that makes sense. It has two straps which have Velcro on them, so you essentially put your foot in it and wrap it around your ankle - very easy to get on or off. The heel is a padded cup made of (if you will) rubber material which is stitched into the neo-prene like material. The stitching is high quality and well done. The heel cup has a cushioned pattern on the bottom of the foot (the inside is of course smooth) which gives you added support when you walk or run. I'm notorious for putting weight on my heel and even when I did so while wearing this, my heel felt almost perfect. Soon as I took it off I was limping. The item is washable (by hand only) and can be worn around the house without shoes or socks or it can be worn while working/doing athletic activities. It doesn't move or ride up, so you can do pretty much any activity you desire with it.It also includes a second "cup" to wear on your other foot to give you balance, if you so incline. I absolutely love the thing - worked so well for me and provided nearly instant relief.
