Very sturdy
I bought this adapter so that I can mount my new thru-axle bike (work still in progress) onto my Thule roof rack designed for quick release front wheels. I haven't actually used it yet, but it's very sturdy and should work just fine. The roof rack has locks, but obviously, the adapter provides no lock, so the mount is not secure. However, I can probably find a locking thru-axle if I need a secure mount. The price is lower than the Thule version, and I cannot believe that the Thule version would work any better. The product supports multiple thru-axle sizes, including the 12x100mm that I need.

Exactly what we needed...
We bought two of these to mount our bikes in the back of my wife's (extra short bed) truck. I mounted them to a cargo bar that clamps into the truck bed so that they would be mounted securely, but easy to remove when not in use.I chose this version that doesn't include the locks so that we could pick out our own locks and get two locks that are keyed the same. These fork mounts work really well. Our first outing with them involved a 430 mile(round trip) road trip with a little mild off-roading in the middle. Our bikes were always held securely and never once did we think we'd bounce them out of the mounts (even on the trails). It might take a little practice at getting the tightness of the skewer on the mount just right, even if you are a pro at taking your front wheels on and off, because the skewer on the mount has an offset on one side and seems to have a longer throw than a wheel skewer. The long throw is an advantage though, because once the skewer is open, it will open wide enough to completely release the forks. This makes it less likely that you'll have to make adjustments to the "nut" end of the skewer every time you mount and dismount your forks.Other users have mentioned that the skewer lever is hard to move to the open position once it's been closed, but I had no issues with mine.I think it's a skewer tightness issue and it could be that the skewer was clamped down too tightly when it was closed. As far as quality goes, I'm really happy with how well these things are made (and I'm really picky). They are very durable and appear to be made of materials that will endure prolonged outside abuse, although ours live primarily in the garage.I'd say that this fork mount is a really good and affordable way to mount a bicycle to the bed of your truck.

Great Bike Wheel Hitch for the Price
Quality wheel hitch for the price. They are cheaper and thinner than the Saris ones and work great with the Saris bike mount double and triple track systems. Wheel easily attaches (forks can be squeezed inwards or pulled apart for pretty much any bike wheel axle width, but rigid enough that they don't move from side to side much at all. Also recommend the Delta Bike Hitch Pro locking fork mount which is a good quality fork hitch for the price and works great with the Saris track systems as well. However, they are painted steel, so I don't doubt they would begin to rust if left outside/exposed over long periods. But they are solid steel, not tubular, so rust would just be an appearance issue and not particularly harm the wheel hitch. If it had been stainless, or a bit heavier duty aluminum, I'd have given them a five star rating. Course, they would have cost significantly more then.

Great product and beefier than I originally thought
We have two bikes that we move around from time to time and we were laying them on their sides (on top of one another) in the back of the F-150. It was a little crazy to say the least when trying to remove them with peddles, spokes and gears sometimes intertwined. So I thought for a fork holder. I looked at several solutions and decided on this one for I have a truck box and didn't want to spend that much on solving this problem.Well when they showed up they were bigger and strong than I thought. No hardware was included, but that was fine with me, for I went out and bought some stainless 1/4" bolts and lock nuts for installation on the back of the truck box. I didn't want anything to rust and I believe most if not all of the components of this product are aluminum or some other type of alloy. They installed without any problem and worked great for two different types of bikes. It has an adjustment nut on the left side to adjust the compression on the lever when engaged. I got locks for them and I tried to pull one of the bikes out to see how strong it was. It didn't give at all.I am very pleased with the quality and construction and would recommend this to anyone who is tired of pulling two bikes apart in the bed of a pickup. Also the bikes traveled very well and didn't move at all over some tougher roads.

Good Mount For the Money
This mount worked very well for my application. It was easy to install into the Utility track of a Nissan Titan using some Uni-Strut Spring Nuts washers and other stainless hardware. The lock mechanism is ok I suppose, you have to tighten the adjustment thumb screw then push the latch closed tightly. This makes the adjustment nut nearly impossible to loosen by hand. However with a tool, I'm pretty sure you would be able to loosen the adjustment nut even when tightened. But, the way I see it, the mount could easily be unbolted from the truck anyways with the right tool. I think they are good mounts if you don't always have to lock your bikes, if you insist in locking them all the time you may want to look elsewhere due to the difficulty in unlatching the locking mechanism once you tighten it up securely enough that the adjustment nut cannot be moved by hand. Understand that this is sort of a friction / tension style lock. If you're just looking for a theft deterrent, and will only occasionally need to lock the bikes, they are good mounts for the money. I still gave them 5 star rating for the value, but know what you are purchasing.

Very easy install and sturdy
This product was a complete problem solver for me. I just upgraded to a through axle bike. This has spacers and configuration for all sizes and worked perfectly with my Yakima fork-mount rack.
