... but having used psyllium on the advice of my Doctor for over twenty years, I have to say I am extremely impressed with the quality of the bag I received from Jiva Organics some months ago.This product is cheaper in bulk than the Konsyl and CVS brand I am accustomed to but it is also significantly less repugnant. Any version of psyllium will work, but the issue is forcing yourself to take it day after day, so the taste makes a big difference to me.The taste of the other brands I mentioned are reminiscent of the dust from a horse trail, which is not a pleasant association. This product is relatively tasteless.This version also dissolves in water immediately when agitated without forming clumps, which I find much easier to swallow quickly before it gels. It appears to be extremely well dried.I keep mine in an airtight container; once psyllium gets damp it's going to be difficult to dole out.And as any user of psyllium should already know, you have to drink extra liquids after taking it, otherwise you are likely to wake up in the middle of the night with a cramp.After twenty years you'd think I would have learned that lesson, but I still sometimes forget ...

I’ve purchased this product many times bc it’s been the cheapest loose powder in a bag, and it’s been alright. I pour it out into an air tight bin to keep it fresh. Opened a new bag up tonight and transferred it into my bin.. nothing out of the ordinary. Then later while scooping some out, I see something crawling then curl up as I tap around it. Instantly gently scooped it out w the end of a plastic spoon while it was still balled up and put it in a cup. Can’t seem to take a very up close photo of it bc it’s tiny and dead now but I promise you it was tiny, hairy bodied everywhere, and had stripes on its legs. Maybe it’s not a tarantula (but it sure had the markings of one and the hairiness!) I’m no spider expert so I’m sorry if I’m wrong. Just be careful with these bags!I contacted the seller who said I can either fill the bag back up with the fiber and return it for a full refund or they’ll give me a 30% credit back. What the hell? I let them know I threw it all out already bc I felt it’s a little unsanitary. Then they said in order to give credit they want the bag ID. Dug it all back out the trash, let’s hope they don’t resell it. Gross.

This stuff is fan-FRIGGEN-tastic! I bought this product after using and having great success with Metamucil but trying to save some monies it’s a good ten dollars cheaper and boy was I shocked with the results being s good if not better than the more expensive brand. This is by far the most regular I have been since I was a child and I am now pushing forty. I am almost guaranteed at least on big satisfying dump a day leaving me feeling good and empty and on the rare occasion that I do not nag a bowel movement I get the biggest loudest make me lift out loud farts that I have ever had they are incredible I call them THUNDER FARTS because I swear the ground shakes when I crack on of these bad boy’s and double plus is they don’t smell! Just good clean fun!

Of the brands I have tried this one may be the best so far. Mixes in water very well. Water is what your digestive system needs to help keep intestinal waste moving and this brand absorbs it very well. It had a neutral taste is why I gave it 5 stars for flavor. I do not want a flavor. I just want it to mix well, absorb water with no taste and I want it to work. I have a common health condition which psyllium husk powder really helps a lot with and helps keep me away from the doctor and the pharmacy. I highly recommend this brand. I just wish I got more powder for the price.

My normal brand was out of stock and this was the next best option in terms of bang for your buck. This is a very fine powder. My intent was to mix it with water as a drinkable supplement. Unfortunately it is very difficult to get this mixed into the water because of how fine it is. It just clumps up.As for the packaging, it was very hard to get the bag re-sealed and I worry that repeatedly opening and closing would cause it to fail. Luckily I store it in a large mason jar for easier access. I recommend you transfer to a different container if you buy this.Overall if you are using this for baking it will be fine, just put it in a different container. If you plan on using it for a drinkable supplement, look elsewhere.
