The light has an L2 chip in it, which is "suppose" to be a 1200 lumen chip. What actually comes out of the flashlight depends on the battery, and a lot of other things that I won't bore you with. It's doubtful that anybody can get a small tac light to get even close to 1000 lumens

can you use the button to just turn it on and off? or do you have to cycle through all modes

the button can be uses either way u can barely press the button an it will cycle thru the diff lights hi med low then strobe and sos... or u can depress the button all the way an turn it off or on... when u leave it off for so many seconds when you turn it back on it goes to first setting if u turn it off then right back on it cycles... for the amount of money its def a good by an i go thru flashlights like crazy!!! u can go spend 100 on a light or 10 on this one which i have done both needless to say i will never spend 100$ again

How long does it take to fully charge the battery?

I bought two of these flashlight kits. No matter how long I leave the battery in the charger, the light never turns green, up to 9 1/2 hours. The best part is that it doesn't seem to affect the battery or the flashlight performance whatsoever. No harm, no foul. I would most definitely buy this flashlight again.

What brand battery and what are the specs in it?

Its a 2200 MAH battery I don't see a brand name,but it will work with 3 aaa cells in the adapter supplied. The flash light is bright blinding bright. my charger is stuck on red, it is supposed to turn green when fully charged. I complained was issued a full refund. I am going to buy another one.
