Excellent quality whole grain. Rye has been impossible to find in any store near me. This rye came in a very sturdy plastic bag. It is very clean and alive. I regularly sprout many types of grains, seeds and beans. This is the fastest sprouting whole grain product of any that I have tried.After sprouting, all I did was microwave the grain in a little water in a covered dish for a few minutes to soften the texture. I love the firm slightly chewy texture and delicious mild sweet flavor.It is great in cold salads or as a the base layer in dinner "bowls"

These were perfect for starting mushrooms. I pasteurized the rye berries in quart jars and inoculated that with mushroom spores. Now getting them into fruiting medium and they are doing great.

Rye berries are wonderful all by themselves, added to salads,soups, main dishes and bread.

The bag was well closed, nothing spilled out. The rye sprouted very well and quickly, in two days.I made delicious whole grain(wheat and rye) bread with addition of these rye sprouts.I use rye berries to make whole-grain flour or to sprout them.
