Push the small white ring at the end of the extractor (where the end of the tube is inserted) in while pulling the tube out.

can i use this to remove transmission fluid from dipstick will it reach the bottom?

Hi, is used for oil, ATF, coolant. of course if you want to avoid contamination you can clean it with towel and use a little bit of the liquid you want to use to "pre clean" and avoid contamination. is like a big syringe

What do you use to lubricate the rubber plunger, vaseline?

Don’t waste your money. The needle doesn’t work not stay attached. Has a lot of air coming inside and no vacuum.
