The tweezers stick out about 1/8", total length is 3-5/8".

Q: Can I buy these without the leather case?

It comes in a slip in leather case, however you do not have to keep them in it. I use an old snap shut glasses case to house them. Great tweezers. If I lost these-would purchase another!
