Are you looking for a discreet and convenient way to carry an extra magazine? I was and I found this concept at the 2014 SHOT SHOW. It's called the Snagmag and it carries your spare magazine as you would a folding pocket knife. In fact, from the outside it looks just like a folding knife....which is what makes this item so interesting! It's designed to "snag" on your the inside of your pocket as you pull the magazine out of you pocket so you can reload fast and with confidence. It available for Glock magazines, of course, as well as 1911 and several others. PLEASE NOTE: The firearm should be held in your strong hand, so this magazine pouch is designed to fit on the opposite side to allow for off-hand loading. The right handed version of this product is designed to be worn in the shooters left pocket.

Good for carry, as a couple of minor improvements that could be made.
These work exactly as advertised, and keep the magazines exactly where I put them. I have only two minor gripes with them:1. If you have the 7rd Sig P938 magazines, the base pad is wider than the magazine itself, and doesn't seat in the snagmag unless you flex the back piece a bit. Not a huge deal, and it helps retention a bit to do so, but it makes it kind of awkward (or the mags just don't fully seat into the snagmag).2. The pocket clip is riveted in place, not set with a chicago screw. Normally, I'd say this is a non-issue, but the magazine pouch keeps the mags right at the mouth of the pocket, which means they're not fully concealed down in the pocket, and are visible, which is a no-go if you're in certain places where people recognize a mag, and make the connection to what it's for, and then make it an issue. I would prefer to have this set up so that I can set the depth into my pocket at which the thing sits out of the box, so that I can make the mags sit deeper or shallower, depending on the circumstances.

Works perfect as designed
It does exactly what it was designed for. Stabilize an additional mag at location of your choice. Using a IWB mag holster is worthless for me. This I can put in any pocket and move to outermost layer in inclimate weather. Mine is for a G36 w/Pierce ext. fits perfect. Can't see mag at all. The Emerson like pocket catch is perfect since I carry an Emerson. If it hits the deck who cares. If I go to a second mag nothing else matters but task at hand. Some reviews I have read sound too particular. I like minimal simplicity. All the "tactical" talk about details will do nothing but make a bad situation worse.

Great idea! Very functional and the snag tab works as designed. The material is sturdy and I expect it will hold up very well. The metal clip is tight but with use will slip just a tad. This does not effect the usability for me. My clip is black, not silver as in the photo. The holster fit was quite a bit loose for my magazine. The front arms were too far forward off the magazine and allowed the magazine to rattle with every step and did not have the retention I was expecting. Also, at the bottom, one side was a bit too wide on one side, however, the material is re-moldable to some degree and I was able to heat the arms with a hair dryer and push them inward toward each other and pinch the bottom end that was too wide thereby tightening the retention some. I also applied a strip of rubberized grip tape to the inside back of the holster to help with the magazine's retention and to deaden the sound of the magazine's movement inside the holster as I walk or run. The grip tape also gives a very low grade resistance during the draw so it doesn't come out too quickly causing me to drop it. I also applied a strip of rubberized grip tape to the backside of the holster under the clip to give grip between the holster and my jeans. This helps keep the holster from coming out of my pocket with the magazine while drawing.I am giving 4 out 5 stars because I believe the product needs a few design tweaks. I love the snag prong idea. The Snagmag is an effective design but with a few modifications to the holster it could be a great design.

I was thinking about how easy it would be to get a kydex carrier for ...
When I unpacked this, I thought to myself how flimsy it feels. It has a bendable plastic feeling to it. I was thinking about how easy it would be to get a kydex carrier for about the same. Then I loaded up a mag, clipped in in my pocket, and was sold. The retention is fantastic, the mag won't move or slip out of the holding unless you want it to. But when you need it, you grab the base of the mag, and the Mag flies out of the carrier efficiently and effectively. I can see a huge advantage of this carrier for conceal carry, in the rare case you need to draw your firearm and reload. I'm not sure I would want this for any type of regular shooting or hard use. But it has a designed function, and my initial testing is that it will excel at it. Just know that before you buy

Under stress, I would not be confident in using this product
Pocket clip does not hold very well during draw.Your finger used to index the magazine while drawing grabs a hold of one of the holster arms used to hold the magazine in place, which makes it so that you pull the entire holster out along with your magazine during the draw.I wrote a more details description of my assessment for the M&P Shield version of this product and included pictures. I also included a few ways I think would improve the product and make more reliable: Snagmag Concealed Magazine Holster (S&W Shield - 9mm/.40, Right Hand)The bottom line is that you need to put just the right amount of upward/backward pressure to engage the claw and be able to draw your magazine without drawing the entire holster. Under stress, I would not be confident in using this product. Returned.

Not bad time will tell
Gave it 4 stars since it will take some time to see how durable it really is. Nice design except it would be nice if it was a bit taller where the pocket clip is so it could be carried deeper in the pocket. Not all pants pockets are created equal and my Tru-Spec pants the magazine rides right at the top of the opening so it is very easy to see it's not a knife I'm carrying. It will still work since I don't let people that close to me usually. The material seems to be your standard kydex so I have no doubt the small side hook that catches your pants will stand up to lots of wear. The pocket clip seems durable I've seen other reviews that complain about it but maybe mine is an updated clip. Either way if you use this product correctly the pocket clip should be fine if you manage to break it I'm going with you used it incorrectly and put unnecessary strain on it. Overall a very nice product but would like to see the next gen which would make it closer to perfect.

Not impressed.
I have to admit I expected something a bit more sturdy for $30+ Bucks. I thought this would be made of Kydex. Although it does what it said I was really shocked at the price for what I got. I bought a true kydex IWB holster for my shield 9mm which IS worth the money and I paid less and got way more. I wouldn't by this again nor recommend it to anyone. There's nothing that holds it in the tray except gravity. If you got into a scuffle I'm sure it would slip right out. Not impressed.
