Is this knife stamped China???

Negative sir , number stamped from crkt . # 2365

Has anyone removed the cord wrap? Is it glued to the faux ray skin? What is underneath if one were, want a solid rubber grip

I think its sorayed with suoerglue or something. Its glued in place doesnt shift move or unwrap, seems attached to faux rayskin too. Is also uncomfortable against skin where it rests on your waist. I wish it had scales instead (and was 1095). I also prefer not having that skin/coating on the blade. This said it is indeed cool looking. But seems more novelty than proper.

how does the J clip attach to the sheath?

Second Ryle from the top. The knife must be in horozontal position. Clip can go up or down to accommodate belt size. Clip should slide inside belt and hook from the bottom of belt so it keeps sheath in place for draw.
