How long does it take for it to dry? I poured a little water on it after several hours and the paint came off.

Accepted Answer

Grout Pen is dry to the touch in 5 min, but please allow a full 6 hours before getting wet.  Grout Pen works best on unsealed grout.  If your grout has been sealed previously this may prevent Grout Pen from being able to correctly adhere to the grout.

What kind of prep work needs to be done before using this product?

Wash and dry the grout first, then apply GROUT PEN.

SEALED GROUT: Grout Pen may not bond to recently sealed grout. Test the grout with a few drops of water. If the grout does not absorb the water within a few minutes then the grout was likely sealed
TIP MAY WEAR DOWN: Tip is made of cotton, pressing too hard will damage tip. Contact seller for replacement tips if needed
SHAKE ONLY WITH CAP ON: Tip is removable and may fall out if shaken hard, only shake pen with cap on (note - Pen does not need to be shaken at all, instead gently pump tip to activate)
DRY TIP: Pen needs to be primed before use, all new Grout Pens come with a dry white tip. To activate gently pump the tip (20-30 times) until fully saturated

Is one product enough for a small galley-kitchen floor?

Honestly it's difficult to say for sure, but the manufacturer says it can cover up to 40 liner meters (approx. 130 feet) of grout lines.  Also grouts absorb the liquid at different rates.
