The blanket material is not as fluffy as I expected.

I had one of these as a kid, it was much bigger than this tiny one I bought. I called the silk lining ‘the coldie’ because it was silky and cold in my hands. I wasn’t a big thumb sucker but was definitely a coldie man. I’ve looked for a blanket that has the same kind of coldie like I remember from my childhood but they never felt the same. They were either rough, or the blanket itself was ratchy, I had begun to think that maybe I was remembering the coldie better than it really was. And then I saw this one. I didn’t want to spring for a full blanket, thinking I’d be disappointed once again -and ordered baby size. A couple days later and it arrived in an impossibly small package. I chuckled thinking how small the blanket must be. As soon as it was out the package my heart skipped a beat. The blanket was nice, soft and not too heavy, and the lining? Well it was EXACTLY like I remember from my childhood. Cold, silky and calming. I know, I’m an adult and don’t need a coldie. But now that I have it crumpled up beside my pillow, it is once again a part of my bedtime routine and it gives me a surprising amount of comfort to run that silk through my hands like I did in those wonder years. Get it. If not for your baby, or maybe you’re a super tiny person, although I suppose you could buy a size appropriate one… but get it. This is a rare example of the things of old, when they were die hard and awesome.
