## Description

Lion's mane, or Hericium erinaceus, is one of the more interesting looking types of mushrooms out there. In place of the traditional mushroom cap is a large clump of teeth, which are spine-like structures a few millimeters long. Other names associated with this mushrooms are Monkey Head, and Pom Pom.

Review: Great dried lions mane - With the cost of lions mane tincture being so expensive, this is a great product to make your own. Use a blender to chop into smaller pieces and soak in alcohol. When that’s done, put the drained lions mane into a crockpot and simmer on low. Then combine the alcohol extraction into the water extraction (otherwise you get precipitates). Should result in 30% alcohol tincture.

A: These are actually medicinal mushrooms. They are usually used for extracts or tintures. The smell is rather strong but that is the nature of these mushrooms once they are dried, the flavor and smell intensify. Some people cook the mushroom slowly with vert little seasoning.
