Don't buy the black enamel coating
Everything sticks to the pan, I cant even make eggs with out them sticking to the pan, I have another set of Le Creuset pots and pans at my other house and those are not with the black enamel, Those are great. Don't make the expensive mistake I did. Seller wasn't helpful at all when contacted. Clearly knows nothing about the product they're selling.

Best Skillet Ever!
First off No seasoning required for this skillet, even the manual says no seasoning required. This is the single greatest pan/skillet in my opinion for cooking. Cooking is a joy with this skillet, we use medium to low heat on everything as the manual suggests and we let the pan come to temperature before using it. Using high heat with this skillet is sure to make everything you cook Stick to the skillet. We use wood spoons with this to ensure it will last a lifetime so my bad habit of banging a spoon on the side will not hurt this skillet. Cleaning this skillet is easy with soap and hot water as long as you do not burn stuff in it, using high heat will make cleaning Harder. If you have been holding off about purchasing this skillet Buy it, it will make cooking more enjoyable if you love cooking.

Love Le Creuset cookware
I bought my first piece of Le Creuset last year. It was their chef's over and it get's used almost daily. I decided I was going to try and pick up one piece a year as a Christmas gift to me. I bought this skillet this year. I love it. Everything cooks so well. It's so sturdy. Both of these will be heirloom pieces I'll hand down to family members who enjoy cooking as much as I do.

Need to Use It
Update after a year of useI seasoned this skillet 6 times in the oven recently. It takes seasoning very well. This skillet is very good and worth the money.Prior ReviewAfter using this skillet for the last few months, it took a seasoning and became non stick. I was able to slide eggs right out of the pan and cook delicate fish with no problem.Continue to use this pan , and it will get better and better.

Not all cast-iron are the same, beats Lodge hands down
I was a Lodge cast iron guy. $30 pan, no nonsense, used it for all my cast iron needs for years. Even after I would season the pan, and work all my magic, I never got that magical cast iron pan that people would tell me about. Never have to use non-stick again, perfect for almost any job.I was reading a review about this pan, and couldn't believe the price. Who pays this much for a cast iron pan?Well, add me to the converts. First of all, it's gorgeous to look at. Love the enamel outside, in 'flame' coloring. It is easy to handle with a nice grip, and a good weight balance. The cast-iron itself is just smooth and beautiful. Super easy to clean (I bought the nylon brush by Le Creuset).I use it for all sorts of jobs, from searing steak, cooking pork chops or frying dover sole. For example, when I make my pork chops, I cook them 4 minutes either side in the pan, and then transfer the whole thing into the oven at 375 degrees for 10 minutes. This thing is beast mode. You can do almost anything with it.The price tag? I get it. Honestly, I wish it was cheaper, but it's like buying the Rolls Royce of skillets. I expect I will be using this for the next 30 years, as long as I maintain the seasoning.
