Great for safety naps
I do a lot of long distance driving at night and sometimes need to pull over for a quick nap. It's tough to get comfortable, and I often wound up with a stiff neck. This Butterfly Headrest cradles my head so I can really relax without my head constantly rolling off the headrest. I have it mounted on my passenger seat and move over there to nap. On the driver's seat it would interfere with vision when checking the blind spots. It's a simply made item, just a plastic "U" shape with a removable pad covered in leatherette, held onto the stock headrest with a large piece of elastic fabric. When I ordered I wondered if the shape was bendable or adjustable, but it's just a fixed U. The design is good, though, and the materials are well chosen. The plastic U is sturdy with just a little give to it and the corners are well rounded, no sharp edges. The elastic is heavy-duty, and the pad is of decent quality and should be easy to clean. Overall it works as claimed and is sturdy enough that I think it will last a while. Priced fairly IMO.4 stars instead of 5 because it isn't really a neck pillow. You still need a pillow too, for support, or roll up a towel or sweater and put that under your neck.

Comfortable car headrest pillow, just okay construction, great for trips, be sure to have detachable headrest before ordering!
I love the idea of this car headrest pillow. I was pretty happy with how comfortable it was to use, however I did run into a couple speed bumps along the way. Let's get right to it, and talk about the good, the bad, and the returnable.ComfortThe comfort was certainly there, I actually found myself wanting to doze off whenever I'd put my head into this cradle. I'm a larger guy at 6' 3", and this headrest pillow fit my head no problem. It had an almost hugging quality to it, making me want to close my eyes and be rocked to sleep. I do a fair amount of traveling on a regular basis with my wife, so for her to be able to strap this on to get a more comfortable sleep, is quite nice. One problem I ran into was getting into the car with this already in place. You need to be mindful of it's existence, or you'll find yourself bumping into it with your head.CompatibilityI feel like I need to address this, as it was an issue for me. I have two cars, one of which is a Volkswagen Jetta. This is what I did all my tests on, and for this car and I'd say 90% of cars out there, this product works and will fit perfectly fine. However my other car, the one I drive every day, is an Audi S4, and this car, unlike my Jetta, has sports seats. These sports seats don't have a headrest attachment, it's all one seat. I didn't quite realize how this product actually attached to the headrest, so this product doesn't work for those cases. But, like I said before, most cars, trucks, SUV's have headrests that are detachable and adjustable. So as long as headrest has a gap between the seat and the headrest, then your good-to-go.QualityThis is where I ran into the "ugly". The product packaging was a bit of a mess. Crumpled and taped closed, it was a bit of an eye sore. Things didn't get much better once I opened up the contents. You'll see in my photos where there's a fair bit of glue that's just been left on the plastic—between the velcro and the plastic headrest, you can see it oozed out and dried. It's not going to get in the way of mounting, or using the product, but I will say it gives you a bit of a "yuck" feeling, and starts your off with a bad first impression..FeaturesOne neat thing I liked was the included adhesive that you could apply to your device, and attach it via velcro to the back of the headrest. This is clever, and I liked that it didn't have to be a permanent attachment to your car. You can take it off and on regularly. So for any mom's / dad's that have kids and road trips with said kids—this is great for them!SummaryFirst impression wasn't great with the packaging, and sloppy glueing. Also not being able to use this on one of my two cars was a bit disappointing. But if, you've got a detachable headrest, and can ignore any minor imperfections, then I really would recommend this! I like the comfort, I like the added tablet attachment possibility, and I like the overall mobility of the product—it's not permanent and can be taken off whenever you don't want it on. I like this thing, and only wish a bit more care and attention was put towards the construction and presentation.

Well meaning but falls short of the goal. Cheaply made. Not worth the price.
This is not a very well made product. It kind of works as described, but I am not sure if it would be safe in the long run, or even that helpful. This does get my 5 star award for reduction in packing though. It comes in a basic cardboard wrap with the ends open. I think this is great and the manufacturer should get kudos. We need to reduce packaging on products and these guys have done a great job! However, I cannot say the same for the product. It is very inexpensively made. They basic plastic "head holder" is not that toughly built, and I think would break if you flexed it too much. The cloth covering that you have to put on the plastic piece yourself is very flimsy. I thought that the little pockets on both ends that you slide the plastic piece into were going to rip as I was inserting them. As it is I was not able to insert them all the way in.The wrap piece that holds it to the headrest is the best built part. This could probably hold up a dinosaur (well, or a small dog!) It wraps around most any headrest. The ones in my SUV are taller than most and it fit that well. It came together nicely, and the Velcro used was strong. There is an optional piece of Velcro you can use to put an iPad on the back of the headrest. I wouldn't do this for two reasons; 1. the Velcro connection is not large enough to be well suited to holding an iPad. And 2. If the person in front is always moving their head, they are also bouncing your iPad around! But I am sure the intention was well.Overall I would not recommend this. There has to be better options out there. I purchased this as my wife and I do a lot of traveling, and the last time we did we stated how nice it would be to have the same type of "wings" on the seat as some of the airlines do. When I saw the pictures for these I thought they were similar. Now, I did get these at a reduced cost in order to test and evaluate them. However, as always, I only purchase that which I am going to, or intend to, use. In this case I am not going to use these.

FINALLY! a neck-saving solution to road trips
Every road trip is safer now. The drivers are rested in our groups. Keep it in the garage on a shelf until you travel. When you get in the passenger seat, you lean back and then you really get into a deep sleep. Really deep. Surprisingly deep. Snoring deep, because your neck is relaxed and you go out cold. And you don't hurt later. Wonderful.
