While I was hopeful that these new style protector pads by Naturepedic would perform as well as the older versions of this product, I am sad to report that both of the pads that I purchased through Amazon two months ago have leaked on multiple occasions. The only reason we did not lose our mattresses when they leaked was because I was skeptical of the pads, so I put multiple waterproof layers down on the beds while we were trying them out. I will no longer use these pads. And I would like to return them, but I will have to go through Naturepedic because my Amazon return window is now closed.For reference, I own two Naturepedic Organic Waterproof protector pads WITH STRAPS which are not fitted on the sides and are made of a heavier "canvas" type material surrounding the waterproof barrier. They were purchased in 2012 and 2015, one from amazon and one from another supplier. Both are completely waterproof, and I am very disappointed that they are no longer available.Updated August 2022 - Naturepedic customer service was very accommodating, and they replaced the faulty pads I received with new ones in 2019. Since then, we have had many nights of dry mattresses with both of the new pads that they sent to us. While I can’t give the product five stars because of the first batch, we have still had a very good experience since the exchange.

EDIT: so after a few months of disappointment, the manufacturer reached out to me via email, I was a bit weary as they said I had gotten a cover from a batch of faulty sheets. But they offered to replace the sheet, no cost to me. Who was I to say no right? So I took them up on the offer. Fast forward, we tested the sheet when we recieved it before putting it on the bed and it didn't leak so we gave it a second try. It kept our daughters bed dry when she had an accident, we are more than happy with the product even after the bumpy start. For the premium price that was paid, I was originally very disappointed as seen below. We are very happy with this product now, and appreciate the patience and time this company took to right the wrong.We bought this when we bought the naturpedic twin mattress for our daughter. We were super excited at how soft and quiet the mattress cover was, not like the others we tried that were plastic and crinkled. In hind sight, this should have been a warning. As the first time our daughter had an accident it soaked directly through the pad and left a stain on the mattress. Kids have accidents right, it's what they do, this was with a week of starting to use the pad. We washed it per instructions, I even let it air dry and didn't use the dryer even though it said I could.Very disappointed in the product. Ended up buying a mattress pad from bed bath and beyond for 39 bucks and putting this one over that one so it was at least quieter.

Love the fact that these covers are made with organic cotton and no harmful chemicals. I bought two for my kids beds. Helps parents sleep a little better at night. The covers are a little big for twin size mattresses, but I’m ok with that. I am however very disappointed that these covers are Not fully waterproof as they say. I have a bed wetter and it soaks through every time.

I've had other mattress pads lose their waterproofing ability over time--I've never been sure why, as there were no visible tears or other reasons; perhaps it was from repeated washing? After 2 months, and 3-6 washings a week, this one has remained completely waterproof. I hope this continues!What I don't like is the fit. I have a "regular" depth mattress--nothing too deep--so there is a lot of extra material on the sides. No problem with that--I know a lot of covers & fitted sheets are cut that way to accommodate varied mattress depths. But it's also too loose on top, the flat part, and this interferes with the fit and look of the fitted sheet. That's why I only give it four stars.Also, be aware that it takes a long time to dry in the dryer.

it an imrpovement material from their older model which the fitting was really white. this newer one the fitting area matches the top of the pad which is cream. it does feel a little softer than the one i bought from them 3-4 years ago. im still using their older protection pad just that it piles and gets rough from all the washing over the years. i saved up to get this one knowing that PU is the most eco friendly and least toxic choice i can get for my family. so i save up and got this brand instead of a PLU type of water proof (these were cheaper choice) waterproof i cant compare to one that uses a different type of waterproof but for natural this is as good as it gets. my baby wet the top but it doesnt reach my latex topper underneath. that is good enough it does feel wet but dont wet below it does it job. that is good enough for me. its stretchy when you put it on. price could be a little better. but overall i highly recommend.
