Initially one of my kids only had a couple bites that were a few days old. We tried it on them anyway. After using it they didn't itch at all. I had one that was about 1.5-2 days old and tried the device on it. The itching stopped after about 10 minutes and hasn't itched again since. Today both myself and one of my kids got bitten. I used it on my bite and my kid used it on hers. The swelling on my bite went down and it hasn't itched since. My kids bite was the real test. Hers was huge and it was one that would normally cause her issues. (She’s allergic to mosquito bites). She used the device on her bite this afternoon. Tonight before bed I asked to see her bite and she said “I think this is where it was, but I'm not sure” it was a tiny bump and hasn’t itch since she used the device!!! So we swear by it!! The device does get hot so it does hurt briefly but it's not enough to burn skin. There are two settings one is half the time of the second setting. The half time one works for the kids. I've found I need the longer time and I need to repeat mine twice before it takes full effect. (The directions say to wait 2 minutes between applications, if I do that my skin doesn’t burn).

All of my life I have been a mosquito magnet. They love me for some reason. My husband and I will both be outside, and I’ll literally get 20 bites, and he’ll get none. Then I itch so badly that I’ll scratch myself bloody, and my sleep will be disrupted. I’ve tried every lotion and repellant known to man. The repellants help, but this thing saves me when I forget to use repellant or end up with a bite anyway. Today I showed him again, and he couldn’t believe the welts were gone. He knows that I usually end up scratching them so much while I sleep that they bleed, and when he DOES actually get bitten, he ends up with a welt too. Even he was amazed at the difference. The gadget burns a little, so I’m not sure this would be great for little kids, but for me it’s FANTASTIC. I apply it twice to each bite, and the itching is gone. I can’t believe it! It’s almost like a miracle for me. I’ve dealt with this problem all of my life. My family has always been big into camping, fishing, and hiking all over the world, I grew up on a pond, and I’ve had horses all of my life. Lots of mosquitoes! One time in Canada on a camping trip, I counted 100 bites. In Virginia we basically lived on a swamp and spent many lovely hours hiking in the Shenandoah mountains. I now live on a small farm near a pond, and unless I spray repellant (which I hate,) I get soooo many bites. I wish I had this years ago! I just changed the batteries that came with it today, and I bought it last year, so they’ve lasted months. I’ve used it all summer long. I hope this device will last a long time because it has made my life so much better. For me, it’s worth the very short burning sensation (again, I always use it twice on each bite) to stop the itching so that I don’t scratch the bite until bleeds and so I can sleep! Honestly, I want to thank the inventor and maker of this device. It really has made my life so much better! I plan to buy one for my niece who is a mosquito magnet like I am as a gift. If you are sensitive and reactive to bug bites you NEED this!! I have always been a bug magnet, I’ll get eaten alive and my husband won’t get a single bite. Most of my life it’s been mosquitos - I get giant welts with each bite. I recently moved to Florida and I haven’t gotten any mosquito bites yet but there’s some other kind of bug bite I’ve been getting. I’ve been getting eaten up so bad at first I thought I was having some kind of rash or bed bugs or something. Benadryl cream wasn’t helping. The bug bite thing (suction device) wasn’t helping. I learned it’s a different kind of bug out here that I never see land on me or feel bite me but the bites are even itchier than mosquitos for me and they last much longer. This device has helped sooooooo much. So much relief and it’s instant. If I use it right away it seems to basically destroy the bug bite. If I use it days later it helps interrupt the itchy flare up so it still helps give me relief. I’m generally sensitive to heat so it does feel pretty hot to me, I keep saying ow when it heats up but I think I’ll get used to it. I already notice the more I use it on a certain area the less sensitive I feel to the temperature. My husband says he doesn’t even feel the heat and laughs at me for saying ow. So it depends on your skin and heat sensitivity. It’s so worth it though even though I’m saying ow haha

I get really itchy mosquito bites that swell up and turn red, and generally, it makes me hate mosquitoes, getting bitten, and the great outdoors. I've tried everything else, from rubbing salt, toothpaste, garlic, those sticks with some kind of liquid to stop the itchiness, multiple medications. The only thing that kind of worked was taking multiple medications, but then I'm sleepy, and I'm also popping tons of pills every several hours. Also, you're carrying around a lot of kit. All the other things only worked for a short period of time, or just made it a little less itchy, so I had resigned myself to a life of itchiness. Plus, you know, since I react so badly to bites, mosquitoes are attracted to me and to no one else. I stumbled across the heated spoon trick recently, and I was desperate, so the next time I got bitten, I was just outside the house, and I tried it. It actually worked for both me and my son. However, carrying an electric kettle and a spoon out in the field isn't really feasible. So I got this nifty little item. Unfortunately, for some bites, it does not seem to work very well, but I suspect that's because they aren't mosquito bites. When I have a confirmed mosquito bite, this item is amazing. I have only done the 3 second option because it's already hot before 3 s, and I'm worried about burns. Plus, the 3 s option is enough if it's a mosquito bite. I just killed a blood sucking mosquito earlier today, and within a few minutes, I used this item, and it did try to swell up, but it wasn't itchy at all. Now, a few hours later, the swelling and the redness is gone. No itchiness. I totally recommend this item. It's convenient, it's portable, it's easy to use. Plus, you don't smell of garlic or have sticky fingers from smearing some weird paste that only sort of works for a couple hours at most, and then you're stuck trying to use other home remedies for the next couple days. In addition to healing from the weeping wound that you've scratched open. So just buy it.

Wow! I love this bug bite zapper so much I already bought a back up. 23andme says I'm more likely to attract mosquitos and I do get bit a LOT unless I douse myself with DEET, yuck! Plus, I have super sensitive skin, that breaks out with satellite hives from even minor skin irritation. Add to that, I'm allergic to bug bites which swell up and itch for a week or more even with cortisone or calamine. So when I venture outside, well, I'm a hot mess, right quick. Lol We just finished a cross country RV trip with plenty of opportunities to test out this big bite zapper on many, many mosquito bites for both me and my spouse. So glad I brought it! It was soooo nice not itching, or dealing with bug spray or anti itch goop all over me, and not smelling like Off the entire trip! Most of the time the itching instantly goes away after one short press of this nifty device. With bigger bites or bites I don't catch right away (because I forget to put the device in my pocket before going outside), I sometimes have to do another short press or even a long press to get the itching to stop. My husband prefers the long press but he doesn't have sensitive skin. Once it stops the itching, it's like the bites never happened! My husband had identical results. The only bites it hasn't worked so well on for us are a couple spider bites. It still reduced itching and discomfort with those bites though too, it just didn't entirely eliminate them. And the active zap light is a bright blue semi-circle for a short press and a full circle for a long press so there's no confusion how long is going to zap you! And, yes, it hurts when it zaps you, some places more than others, but instant relief from the itching is SO worth it to me. It's not even an issue for me. It easily fits in a pocket. Has a nice sleek modern design and is easy to clean. My only suggestion is I wish it had a way to attach it to a key chain or a lanyard so there's less chance of it falling out of a pocket or setting it down somewhere and misplacing it. It's that important to me! I've had friends look at me weird when I use it in front of them the first few times but when they eventually get bit, they try it and it works for them too! (2x AAA) • Use & Effectiveness: This product is extremely easy to use, and only requires turning the switch to ON and clicking a single button to activate it. You simply place the heating plate on the bug bite and click the button. It will certainly sting/burn, but after 6 seconds, the pain and the itching are gone. Now for the effectiveness, it works a substantial amount of the time on the first try. Occasionally, however, you may have to “burn” the bug bite 2-3 times if it’s very itchy still, but the itching almost always goes away. In addition, the itching is frequently gone forever after using this device, but the bite will occasionally need to be hit again, a few hours or a day later. • Bang For Your Buck: For less than $30, this is an absolute essential. It’s almost guaranteed that it will come in handy at some point, and it truly feels like magic. It’s good quality and will last you a while, so I recommend getting one for yourself. This little device actually surprised me with how well it works! I get eaten alive by mosquitoes, and this helps reduce the itching and swelling fast. It heats up quickly and gives noticeable relief within minutes, which has definitely helped me sleep better without constantly scratching. That said, it does get pretty hot — not enough to burn, but it can sting a little if held too long. The strength of the heat seems just right once you get used to it. It’s small, easy to use, and worth the money for anyone who reacts badly to bites. Definitely a solid buy for summer or travel.

I find that this genuinely works, at least for a few hours. I find that I later have to re-apply the heat to the bite to numb the itch. Once I do, the itch definitely goes away. The product comes in very good quality packaging and is made really well. Not flimsy or easy to break. I've dropped it a couple times already and it still works well. Easy to use and if you can handle the few seconds of burn, it is worth it because that little bit of burn easily outweighs the hours and days of itch and bleed and scab that I usually get from bites.

I am literally allergic to mosquito bites, while also being loved by the cretins - While most people will get a few pencil-tip eraser-sized bites all over them that go away in a few days, I will end up with 10 on one leg, that end up swelling anywhere from between paintball to golfball sized welts, and lasting for 2 weeks at minimum. This thing helps a LOT with minimizing the itching and subsequent swelling and reducing the recovery time. As soon as I realize I am scratching a bug bite, I will use this device. The 3-second, 1-button-press 'sensitive skin' setting has been working just fine for me. The heating action can be a bit uncomfortable - not like you're getting burned, even though it is a steady increase in heat, but more like you've been zapped by static electricity; It kind of 'tickles'. Which, in retrospect, I suppose helps with minimizing the urge to scratch, as that little bit of discomfort, is 'satisfying' enough to figuratively 'scratch the itch', without literally doing so. It uses 2 AAA-batteries and it's pocket-sized - while highly portable, it would be quite easy to lose track of it, so I wish it had a way to attach a strap to it, but that's a convenience wish and not a utility wish. I would HIGHLY recommend this thing no matter if you are allergic to mosquito bites or not - being able to literally burn-zap the itchiness away is awesome.
