Surprised by the effectiveness of this little solar panel. Used to maintain the battery on my Audi A8, as the car is infrequently used. This won't recharge a flat battery if it's dead but will restore one that is slightly down or not used for long periods. Easy to use and well made produces 13.2 volts in overcast conditions I'll up date voltage when in full sunlight once we get a clear day. Connections are very tight to plug and unplug so be careful with them. Overall very happy with the unit.

My car normally goes flat if I don't drive it every couple of weeks, and I regularly have to drive it around for 30 minutes just to charge the battery which is obviously wasteful. I plugged the solar panel into the car's cigarette lighter when I got the panel 7 weeks ago and haven't driven the car since then, and when I got in the car today, it started immediately. The panel is inside the car on the dashboard underneath the front windscreen, facing west so not getting as much sun as if it were south facing, plus has a layer of windscreen glass over it and it is still keeping the battery charged. Plus this is British weather, not sunny Mediterranean. A convenient and effective purchase.

I was sceptical that this would maintain the battery on my second car that I drive once a month in the winter. I used the connector that send power from the solar panel to the car 12V (cigar lighter) socket. Despite the solar panel being outside and exposed to the elements even during the long, cold, dark winter nights, the battery is always charged and starts the car first time.

Excellent little solar panel, easy to use, gets 14.1 volts on overcast conditions, but as people have said, the connections are very, very tight. Other than that, an excellent solar charger . Thank you, Powoxi

I have just returned from 5 days away so this was a good opportunity to try this solar charger for the first time. I bought the charger because my freelander has a drain on the battery if left unused for 3-4 days. On returning from our 5 days I was disappointed to find the car battery completely dead. In fact it was so dead I couldn't remove the ignition key from the dock, and required a jump start from a second car just to remove the ignition key. The battery was the put on fast charge for 24 hours on a conventional charger. Conclusion...this solar charger is completely useless.
