Very rapid read put together in an elementary style and structure. There's nothing particularly wrong with the book other than the fact that it lacks rigor. I feel a bit like I'm reading from a middle-school text book.Like I said, facts seem sound, though research is not specifically cited. Analysis and general development of a thesis is lacking.

I find this eBook very interesting to read. It has a great introduction about the world of Pirates. Pirates were trained sailors and skilled seamen who found themselves out of work and struggling to make ends meet. When I noticed the title of the book "Pirates" .. I wondered what on Earth would be in a book talking about thieves, but I was curious enough to buy the book. The author really described everything related to those people. Who were they? Where did they come from? He made the topic very interesting. Many thanks to the author.

The era of piracy in the Caribbean began in the 1500s and died out in the 1830s after the navies of the nations of Western Europe and North America with colonies in the Caribbean began combating pirates.I love this story book very much. I know some true fact about Pirates that i didn't know before. I will recommend this book to pirates lover to know the true fact.

Great read on history's most famous pirate captains, as well as Anne Bonny and Mary Read. Not much mention of lesser known pirate captains. Also, much easier to read Johnsons book written in old English.

Well done with a lot of interesting facts without being too dry. The excellent performance helped carry the storyline.

Brief and short history of pirates and the myths about them.Men and women pirates and their looting, killing and plundering.

Basically this is a very brief introduction. Not much detail but gives a good flavour and dispels some myths. Very easy to read. A good starting point if you want to read more in depth later.

Brief, but enjoyable & informative. The author kept it simple, but an easy enjoyable book focusing on the facts.

Thought it was going to be a bit more in depth regarding explaining about the circumstances which led people to be pirates.

Middle of the road best way to describe this. A good one for history teachers . the summarys weren,t really needed they were just superflous.and made for more of an distracting and confusing browse.
