It's gentle on the stomach, has vitamin C to help with absorption, and it's clean — no gluten, GMOs, or unnecessary fillers. If you're vegan or can't tolerate animal-based products, this is one of the best options out there. That said, if you can take animal-based supplements, I personally think beef liver supplements are even better. They don’t just have iron — they also naturally come with a ton of other nutrients your body needs, like vitamin A, B12, B-complex, zinc, copper, selenium, and etc. All of it is in a whole-food, highly absorbable form. Still, OptiFerin-C is a solid pick if you're looking for a vegan or non-heme iron option that works. It’s helped me keep my iron levels up without side effects, and I’ll keep using it.

I ordered these because my iron was a little low. I have been feeling more energetic since I’ve started taking them, but I hoped that they wouldn’t be unpleasant to take. I’ve had iron supplements that didn’t cause issues before, but these aren’t it. I take them right before bed, but I still wake in the middle of the night burping iron taste. That’s pretty typical, so know these aren’t buffered in any way.
