10" x 2.5 x 3.5, so yes, it will fit in your mailbox. i buy a LOT of incense and a LOT of vanilla scented products and i have really enjoyed this product. i'm on my third box - i just keep reordering! high quality for a good price.

Do they set off smoke alarms easily?

Incense isn't actually smoke so it doesn't set off fire alarms. But the Gonesh brand has a much stronger smell than Hem.

How do these match up against Gonesh Vanilla? Gonesh is becoming too expensive/hard to find.

I don't remember if I tried Gonesh but I like these a lot and so do my friends.

Do they give off any smoke? I'm actually wanting it as an object lesson and need the smoke.

Yes ,they are the stick type and they give off some smoke but not a great deal of smoke. There is an incense burner that cascades smoke. I don't remember what it is called but it is fun to watch. make sure you get the right cones. (the hollow ones.)
