Reliance Controls PBN30 30-Amp NEMA 3R Power Inlet Box

My husband wanted this and it worked for exactly what he wanted it for, connection was easy.

Good product came in very handy

Works great. We used it to add a box for the generator to plug into when our power goes out.

Will withstand sideways rain with no problem due to the recessed twist lock connection on the bottom of the box. I purchased 2 and I'm happy with the purchase. I will have to paint one of them to protect it from the sun.

Good design prevents water from reaching the outlet. Quality product. Good price.

Easy install

This is my power inlet of choice. It's composite material so it won't rust. The one piece top and front is great for keeping the weather out. The plug being located on the bottom prevents water from getting up in there and causing corrosion. The pitched top allows the water and snow to run away from the house and not pool. There's also plenty of room of connections. The only way I think it could be better is if it were mad from stainless steel. Best price I found is right here on Amazon. I recommend this for all the homes I add transfer switches.

I'm an electrician. This box is great. I like to mount it at about 5' high to make it easier to get the bottom mounted plug inserted. While sometimes it's easy to go into the back knockout, it's usually a hassle fishing down the wall, so my preferred method from a basement panel is to drill a 1" hole through the ledger board to the outside of the house then I switchto 3/4" pvc pipe. An LB at the bottom and a 90 into the side of the inlet box. No fishing wires in the wall!
