I got these for my teenage sister whose shoes smell RANK. Between puberty and sports, the odor is miserable. We had her put them in her converse overnight as well as her sports tennis shoes. Both smelled better in the morning. The odor was not completely gone, but it was significantly better. I really liked the fact that these can be revived in the sunlight. I have not tried that yet, so I can not vouch for how well that works to revive and extend the life of the bags. I like that they are an all natural kind of alternative to chemical deodorizers that don't last long and have to be disposed of so quickly. Hopefully, we only continue to see awesome results from these deodorizer bags. I have used raw charcoal in old antique furniture before to remove odors, so it completely makes sense that charcoal could be contained in a less messy was for odor removal in all kinds of things. Did not work well

I have to say I was rather skeptical if these would really work or not as I had MANY uses for them. My main uses were my husband;s work boots and the bathroom which also contains the cat box. They worked wonderfully...not sure how but they did. My daughter has the worst foot odor! We have tried everything to help eliminate the odor, but so far, most solutions have been short-term. I have previously used charcoal deodorizers, which were pretty effective. So when I saw that these inserts include bamboo charcoal, I decided to give them a try to see if they would provide a more long-term solution to keeping her shoes smelling fresh while absorbing the moisture created from sweat. So far, they are working very well.The inserts fit perfectly in my daughter’s shoes, so there is good coverage of the full area, unlike other inserts that I’ve tried. There are no other scents from perfumes or other chemicals, so no concerns with allergens. I originally bought these to put inside of my gym shoes to prevent them from smelling the way my old gym shoes did. I used a moisture absorbing foot powder inside of the shoes and then placed one of these charcoal bags in each shoe. So far, so good. No bad smell being retained in my gym shoes and these also help to retain the shape/form of the shoe. I wear a size 5 women's sneaker and one of these bags fits inside well with an inch or so of extra room.
