No, this unit'll only play CD, CD-R/RW discs not MP3 discs.

Can you plug in a set of head phones?

No. That jack on the right is an "aux in" only jack for an external audio source and not for a headphone. I made the same assumption. I plugged in a headphone and the player more or less shut down.

Exactly where do you plug in earphones? can only find aux in for microphone.

A standard 3.5mm "Aux In" Jack is not only for auxilliary devices like a phone, but also for Headphones/Earphones/External Speakers For Extra Amplification. (Confusingly, headphone/earphone/extra speaker jack is interchangeably called "in" or "out" as the headphone/earphone/extra speaker receives media coming out of the media/player, but the headphpones/earphones/speakers are plugged in the jack.)

Can you plug into wall socket?
