Tassimo GEVALIA Dark Breakfast Blend Coffee, Extra Bold, 12 Count T-Discs, (Pack of 2)

When I first purchased a Tassimo coffee brewer, the availability of Starbucks brand discs was one of the reasons for my choice. When Starbucks jumped ship (to Keurig, and then their own machines), I cast about for a while to find a T-Disc dark roast blend I liked as much as SB Verona or French Roast or House Blend. I found a few in the traditional-size discs that could produce a decent (albeit small) cup of full-bodied European-style coffee. But finally, with Gevalia's trio of T-Disc dark roasts, Dark Breakfast Blend, Dark House Blend, and Dark Italian Blend you can enjoy those robust flavors in a full-sized mug. Try all three and decide whether they actually emulate the SBX roasts they reference, or are simply better!

This isn't bad for a Tassimo coffee T-disc. In fact, my only complaint is that it makes a small cup of coffee. It's rich and dark and very enjoyable. Wish more discs came in larger sizes; this makes about 6ozs which isn't nearly enough for a morning cup o' joe. Yes, I could make a second cup but then I start realizing just how expensive it is!

For some reason these discs tend to clog and the coffee maker threatens to explode. After many such experiences (which include tossing those clogged), I found that you can bang the disc on a hard surface a few times and this seems to avoid the problem? This is my favorite morning disc...

The best first cup of coffee in the morning I have found for my Tassimo coffee bot. A really superb dark roast that is never bitter. This is one of my favorite 3 blends for the Tassimo.Now if Amazon would stock the Carte Noire Signature Blend I would be in 7th Heaven.

This blend is a less bitter but every bit as bold alternative to the Dark Italian Roast, also produced by Gevalia. Amazon seems to be the only retailer that I can purchase it from and it is a relatively good deal, compared to BB&B and Gevalia's site.

So it's not the Starbucks, we have all had to get over that, but it's pretty close. Gevalia finally figured out that they had to use a double-sized disc to get a stronger taste, and that's what this is. Not as smooth as Starbucks, yet a reasonable substitute.

the coffee is great, the only problem is that we have had several of the bar codes not work. considering the cost of this i'm not happy with it. i will get others for a while until they fix it.

I love this blend, great for bold lovers. Tastes great drinking straight black, not having to mask with cream or sugar a sign of very good coffee.
