Tassimo MAXWELL HOUSE Cafe Collection, French Roast Coffee, Dark, 16-Count T-Discs, (Pack of 2)

I've had a Tassimo machine (not the same one) for nearly four years now, and have tried most if not all of the discs available through Amazon. While I haven't been thrilled with any of the other Maxwell House discs particularly (I like a strong cup of coffee, but there are a wide variety of preferences on this issue), I've been very, very pleased with the French Roast. It gives a strong but smooth brew and you can't beat the price--at the time I'm writing this you can get 2 packs of 16 discs of the MH French Roast for under $14, compared to 2 packs of 12 discs for more than $20 for the Starbucks blends. I still buy Starbucks, particularly the Africa Kitamu, and Seattle's Best, particularly Henry's Blend, because I like variety in my cup of Joe, but MH's French Roast is great choice, especially if you have multiple coffee drinkers in the house and need to keep plenty of discs on hand while still keeping within your food budget!

Of all the t-disc choices, this one if pretty good if you like a full 6 oz of coffee that's not weak and is competitively priced (under .50 a disk including shipping, tax etc.). Although there are some better choices out there for a dark brew for the Tassimo (e.g., the Tassimo extra bold roast which was similiar in boldness to Star$), they are very pricey (double the price of these disks). Bed, Bath and Beyond used to have decent prices for the t-disks after applying their store coupons, but they recently jacked up their prices to almost $11.00 per package and they reduced their selection of t-disks (they no longer sell the Tassimo bold roasts). Hate to say it, but I think the days for the Tassimo machine are numbered (sort of like owning a Betamax machine....).

So far this is the only Tassimo t-disc coffee product in the Bold category that I have been able to find. I am still disappointed that Starbuck's Cafe Verona is no longer available. There is suppose to be a Gevalia Tassimo bold coffee becoming available the middle of OCT through Amazon.com. I have this product on pre-order and I am hopeful we may soon have other choices. So in the mean time by using less water per disc this has been a drinkable and flavorful substitute. One of the problems with the available products is that there is not enough coffee per disc. Starbucks had the best size with more coffee per unit.

I am giving this product 4 1/2 stars because I can't give it a perfect 5. The Starbucks brand is a lil stronger and taste a lil better but most will not be able to tell the difference, but for half the price, this is a no brainer for me. I like the Maxwell House better than Gevalia brand also. This is a good medium roast, not too strong but still has the caffeine kick needed to get me through the morning.

First off I don't normally write reviews unless I am dissatisfied with a product. I was so impressed with the Maxwell House Dark Roast that I had to chime in. I used to drink Starbucks ll the time using a regular coffee brewer, but after wasting so much I decided to get a Tassimo brewer. While it was a great deal ($30 for the brewer), it has been very difficult to find T-disks in grocery stores. I am sure if you are a Tassimo lover you have had the same frustrations.Well back on point, this coffee is my new favorite. It has a nice bold taste with NO aftertaste. Goes down smooth and has a nice rich, almost smoky flavor. I always add one sweet-n-low to my coffee. No milk or creamer. Again, can't say enough about this awesome product!

I like the Gevalia French Roast the best, but was looking to lower the cost of my coffee. King of Joe dark roast was good enough, so I tried this at an even lower price point. Although the price is great, the coffee is too weak for my taste. I like to add cream to my coffee, so maybe black it gets the job done? I'll be going to King of Joe now to save about $100 a year, but Gevalia is still the best.

I like this blend better than any other currently available for Tassimo although previously available blends were better. I really liked the Seattle's Best blends but they are not made anymore. (Amazon still lists them, though. Don't know why. Kind of irritates me.) Also, since Amazon dropped this blend from Subscribe & Save and have also raised the price substantially, I no longer purchase through Amazon. I can buy it for the same price or less at my local grocery.

This is my absolute favorite coffee and all I ever purchase for my Tassimo Coffeemaker, which I also purchased at Amazon. In fact, now that I can make a fresh cup of coffee every time I want some I find I enjoy the coffee a lot more throughout the day. If you like a dark, bold coffee this one is for you.I'm always amazed at how quickly I receive the order once I place it. The only drawback is that it is a little less expensive at Meijer. While I appreciate the convenience of the delivery I will be watching and comparing prices to see if it willo become more beneficial for me to buy it at the store.
