Great but not for small breed with curved nails.
These were sharp and did not split the nail. Cut through like butter.... But I could not use them on her back paws because she is small and they don't open all the way, so I could not get them around the curve if her nail. I would recommend for a large breed but I'm returning mine.

Great Clippers
These dog clippers are the best I've ever had! They have a sharp blade and are easy to handle. I have bought clippers in the pet supply section of the store. These clippers were terrible: hard to use, dull blades. They scared my dog. This is the first time my dog hasn't minded having her nails clipped!

Incredible price and Excellent product
My dog hates getting his nails clipped by me. Almost every nail clipper that I've gotten have pinched his nail slightly crushing before cutting through cleanly. Even ones marketed as high grade professional nail clippers have done this. I think the crushing is due to the fact that he has very soft nails With these cllippers, I think I can actually get my dog to be comfortable or at least less fussy about getting his nails clipped! I found tons of recommendations for the Millers forge brand of clippers, and even the vet and groomer recommended them. First, let me say that these required almost no effort to clip my dogs nails. I was able to get my dogs nails clipped in 15 minutes, which is the fastest I've ever been able to do this. He didn't once cry out in pain as if I were killing him, nor did he retract his paw as hard as he could from my grasp. I didn't have to do a sharp and quick cut to get these to close, as I have done with many other brands. Instead these just glided right through the nail, and were incredibly precise so that I was able to clip in small sections. It was almost like shaving off his nail just a little bit. Because the clippers clipped of his nail so cleanly I was able to see that the discarded nail anatomy - hard shell and a fleshy inside. The fleshy inside of his nail just crumbles when it falls out of the hard shell, and so I think this is why previous nail clippers were crushing his nail. Speaking from a physics perspective, I can see these clippers lasting quite a long time and remaining sharp. The design on the blade of the clipper is angled sharply into a thin blade (and it is a very sharp blade). The blades make no noise as they are closed and opened, though I can feel the blades brush against one another. The spring that opens the clippers also makes no noise, and I believe this is because they use a volute spring which I'm also not afraid of getting pinched by. The only issue with the clippers is that the red comfort grip covers slide off while I clip. This isn't a big deal though as they don't slide off much and it didn't make a difference in how the clippers performed. For people who are wondering if these are real Millers Forge Inc clippers, they are. Only the larger Miller's Forge nail clippers are made in Italy (specifically the 727C and 767C styled for larger dogs). I would only recommend these for medium to small dogs. All other Miller's forge nail clippers are made in other places -such as Japan and Taiwan. These 743C clipers are made in Taiwan, and do come with the Miller's Forge lifetime guarantee against manufacturing or worksmanship defects unless abused or left to rust (as stated on the back of the packaging).

Overall good clippers
I bought these after my dog started resisting nail trims because my previous nail clippers were not sharp enough. These cut through the nail much easier and my dog seems more comfortable. I wish they opened wider because having to slide it up the nail is more challenging than my old clippers that I could open wide enough to place over the nail. The latch that holds the clippers closed moves too freely and can fall into the closed position during use. So far they have remained sharp and seem to be good quality.

Stress Free Trimming
These are the BEST!!! I only write reviews when I am thoroughly impressed, and these clippers are review worthy for me! I am a very reticent nail trimmer, but I finally got my courage up and tried the clippers I bought months ago, and they are a game changer. They cut through my dog’s nails like butter. No crushing. No stress. My dog is a lab, and the smaller clippers were plenty big enough for his nails, and a comfortable fit for my hand. I clipped small pieces at a time, and then finished up with a little buffing. Perfection. A spa day for my pooch!

Sharp nail clippers
These are great, sharp clippers and they fit nicely in my hands. They're furthest open position is sometimes a bit big in my hand though. The handle coverings recently started slipping like many people complain about, which I honestly don't quite understand why the company doesn't try to fix that issue. I think putting a little super glue in there then sliding them back on will keep them in place though I haven't yet tried it. The opening for the clippers doesn't fully open like most clippers so you do have to stick your dog's nail into the whole. Depending on your dog that may be a pain in the butt, it is for me some of the time. So I switch back and forth between these sharp clippers and the sharp clippers by diamond g with the bamboo handles as they fully open and I'm able to get into some smaller angles with them. These are a good price point so I'll be able to replace them when they start to dull to avoid any issues. If the locking mechanism flops around some, keep the lock side pointed down towards the floor so it doesn't cause issues and get in the way. Or you can simply use a piece of scotch tape and tape it into the unlock position for that trim session. Make sure you take the tape off and lock them back when you're done to avoid an accident or additional wear on the sharp blades.

The best nail trimmers for professionals
As a pet groomer, these are hands (or paws?) down the BEST nail clippers. They are sharp and do not have the loud snap like most clippers. Dogs prefer this pair because there isn’t a lot of pressure needed to cut the nail. It literally cuts them like butter. I do wish these came in a bigger size for larger dogs.

Great product
I've purchased many different clippers through the years. To wich my dogs would normally flinch when cutting there nails. It was obvious the dogs were in discomfort. I tried THE Miller's Forge clippers. My dogs didn't flinch at all ! And the clippers even cut my full sized dogs nails like a hot knife through butter. No crunching nails no flinches. I can't believe sharp, how smooth and effortless these clippers are these.
