Awesome vintage reissue
I love vintage watch designs, but the problem in buying a vintage watch is that it's sometimes quite a big gamble. If you don't know what to look for in terms of if the movement is in good condition or original, then you could end up buying a dud. This is where the reissue of the Timex Marlin is fantastic because, not only do you get a proper stainless steel case (the originals were plated brass), but the movement is also considerably better than the ones that were in the original Marlins. The Marlins of yesteryear had movements that were basically non-serviceable. The were cheaply made and were essentially intended to be thrown away ones the movement gave in. The not what a mechanical watch is supposed to be like. It's supposed to be something that you can take care of and have serviced so that it's always in tip-top shape for the rest of your life. Now, despite it having a Chinese-made movement, it's none other than the ST6 (with the automatic rotor removed), which has been proven to be a really reliable workhorse movement over the last couple of decades...and the fact that it can be serviced if need be is great. So really, if you want a vintage watch, but without the vintage headaches, the Marlin reissue is a stellar little watch. Keep an eye on Timex because they will be releasing more reissues of these classic designs in the future.

I love that it is self-windinghis is a lovely watch--not too big, or banish in appearance. I am wearing ti now and it is just fine on my smaller wrist. It really could be a watch for either a woman, or a man. Once it is not hew rise and starts self-winding, it isn't necessary to do anything to it as it keep the time really accurately. I've wanted a self-winding watch like this for ages. I had my father's watch and it simply won't run any longer. It was a watch much like this in size and in its ability to wind itself. Now I have this one. It is truly elegant looking and the band is of good quality as is the rest of the watch. I am truly pleased with this purchase and love the way it looks.

I always wanted to get this Marlin 34mm that I don't have to baby. Slips under shirt cuffs, mechanical handwind, Timex knocked it out of the park with this one. Dislikes: the minute hand is slightly short, setting the time takes a few seconds longer. Also, it is my only watch where the time variation tends to run slower.

I always want to start off by saying I am not a watch aficionado. I just like mechanical watches, if I see it and like it I buy it, all within reason of course. I waited until the price was reasonable, $250 was too high for me, at $134 sweet spot. I thought take a chance Booyah when my Timex 34mm came in love at first sight. My concerns yeah 34mm and rudimentary Chinese movement, after a week not an issue! Looks good on my 7” wrist and the ST6 movement excellent for me about 9 seconds a freaking day, good for me…now no guarantees on what you might get, you can always get it regulated. The dial is awesome. Bottom line all it does is tell time, in this case less is more. Timex Marlon hand winding watch worth every penny to me
