Perfect game for first level readers!
This fun and colorful game is great for Kindergarteners or any child that has begun reading BOBs Books or other first level reading books. The instructions are simple and the setup and play time last about 20 mins. Not only does it teach reading skills, but also counting skills. The board game itself is sturdy and can be played on either carpet or a hard surface. With the BOBs Book characters and fun “hat” tokens, my child (age 5) has loads of fun sounding out words, spinning the spinner, counting her moves and how many hats she has earned. The only negative thing I can say is that when it was delivered, the shipping label was stuck directly to the board game box (not wrapped in shipping materials). This game was a surprise for my child and luckily she didn’t see it when it got delivered.

Great Supplement
Bob Books are how my son is learning to read, and the game is a great supplement. It is educational and doesn't take very long to play a round of the game. If you've played other educational board games before, you may have found they dragged on past the point of being fun. I'd say this one strikes the right balance.

Fun Partner Game for the Bob Books
We love this game. I have purchased several of the Bob Books for my grandson and he likes reading the stories. This game uses four of the characters from the early Bob Books. The object of the game is to make words using the alphabet on the game board and the letters that are on the cards dealt to each player. This game is best for beginning or emerging readers since the words are all three letters and only use the short sound of vowels. If my grandson continues to enjoy the game, I may add homemade cards that incorporate long vowel sounds and longer words. One change that I made: the game calls for those landing on a vowel or Q and X to take another turn or lose a turn (I forget which is which), but we always take another turn. Four-year olds hate "losing" anything and waiting for their turn, so this little change keeps little ones more happily engaged in the game.

Skeptical at first but Kids love it!
I knew of the Bob series but this was recommended from a friend, so I figured sure why not.For a $8 game, my 3.5 yr old had a good time, even if she doesn't know how 3 letter words yet.Super educational and introducing to sounds, reading, 3 letter words. While the picture may be super simple and not full of cuteness my kids wants to play this daily. The spinner that came with it, didn't work that well though but we made it work by spinning ourselves until someone says "Stop!". Would recommend this to kids 3.5+.

Perfect for beginners!
This is perfect for a beginner reader. My daughter is just starting to read and I didn't want to bog her down with a ton of book work and practicing. When I add in this game she is learning and having fun at the same time.Something I plan on doing once this game gets too easy is to create more ending cards. That way we can continue to play but also challenge her. I love this game. And even for my 3 year old I can omit the reading words and give him a hat if he recognizes the letter.

It's a ok game but it smells really bad like mildew 🤢 the smell is very strong and I would NOT recommend this product for that reason.
