Nice Shoes
I got these today and they look good. As others have said they do run big. I compensated for this by ordering a 1/2 size smaller then what I typically wear and the fit is perfect. They are well made so I expect they will last a good while.

Eyelets tear easily... Not worth the money
Sizes run large so with 4E width feet that was perfect for me... I thought. They lasted one year and the first eyelet is torn thru completely. The left shoe is now a 4 eyelet shoe and the right is a 5 eyelet shoe. This means the left flops around more so my left foot is more sore at the end of the day. I had a Walmart $15 pair of shoes for over seven years before this happened to them. Will definitely not purchase these again. They should have lasted a lot longer for the money.

Got me through a weekend of parades comfortably. Got 6 years out of them (sporadic use).
Got these just in time for a weekend of parades I had to march in. The previous weekend I marched in parades wearing Bates Floataways (the patent leather variety). They turned my heels into hamburger. Might have been the size, they were hard to find in EE width. In any case, they destroyed my heels.I am happy to report the Thorgood's were so comfortable, they were like night and day. I noticed there is some extra reinforcement sewn into the heel area, but in such a way that no ridges or stitching would hurt your heels. In any case, most of my shoes are 9.5. I ordered the 9.5 Wide, and they were fine with the heavy wool socks I wear with my uniform. Hopefully the lining and soles hold up.***edit: They lasted 6 years of sporadic use, heaviest use marching in parades in March. Then the heel cups wore out. Ordered the same pair summer of 2024, worn for first season again March 2025. Will keep buying if they continue to hold up.

Size completely off
Seemed to be nice. But, they were not true to size, way too big.

Order a Size and a Half Smaller
First impression- comfortable and good looking shoe. They feel great on my feet and better than any other dress shoe that I own. These shoes run VERY much larger than what you typically wear. I wear a size 13 Brooks running shoe and a size 13 Danner boot.....I wear an 11 1/2 in these Thorogoods! That’s a HUGE desparity.

Good leather but bad adhesive
Great leather but the soles started to seperate from the upper around 4 months of casual use.

Great value, great shoe.
This is my second pair of these great uniform shoes. First pair lasted more than 5 years of intermittent wear. I wore the old pair 5 days a week for the past 18 months. While the uppers remain in great condition, the heels wore unevenly to the point they were no longer comfortable. Probably not the fault of the shoe. When I ordered the new pair, I realized the old pair were wider than I intended to buy. The extra unneeded width probably had something to do with the wear pattern. This new pair is normal width and fits much better. I'm sure they will remain serviceable for years to come.

Security Friendly
I am a pilot for a major airline and this is the second pair of these I have purchased. I wasted the other ones away after a few years by many miles in airports all over the world. They take a couple of days to break in but wear very well, are very comfortable and are truely security friendly. I mean I don't have to take them off as a crew member and they do not set off the metal detectors which is very nice for a laced up shoe. The price is not too high either. Highly recommended.
