Joy, Joy

First of all, this man's voice is just WOW. I'm a new fan and I'll be looking for his other work. This is not a perfect CD, however, because there are moments when the instrumentation is simply too loud. A voice like David Phelps' needs to be front and center in a recording and unfortunately there are times during this CD when you can't hear him well enough. You know how Richard Carpenter knew exactly how to put Karen's voice up front in the recording and not drown her vocals out? David deserves the same treatment because his voice is stunning.

I love Gaither Vocal Band music, esp David Phelps voice. So I was excited to get some featuring him. But disappointed that his voice is often hard to hear among the instruments and back up singers. It sounds as if the mike is closer to the instruments and therefore they often are so loud that other parts are lost. Beautiful music but disappointed that the full beauty of his voice not more prominent.

I liked this CD, there's a track only instrumental... And the track "Tonight" is NOT the tune from 'West side story'...which I love. It's another song, but also a good one. David Phelps sings very well.

If this voice doesn't stir you, turn up your hearing aids ! What a talent !

David Phelps voice is like silky smooth and I love the rich quality of his music. This won't get played just at Christmas, but all year round.

If it's a David Phelps CD you can't go wrong. What a heavenly voice. A very nice collection of Christmas songs, including my favorite O Holy Night. Grab it for your Phelps collection. It's great
