When purchasing a Chinese checkers wooden board it is important that the holes are properly spaced and lines are painted between the holes. All the pegs should fit in the holes properly, as these do. The pegs are so much better than marbles which roll around the board. We love to play this game daily and have had it for over a year with no signs of wear.

exactly what i was looking for - small enough to take along traveling and sturdy wooden board - pegs are also wooden not plastic and i prefer the pegs over marbles as they will not leave their position when bumped - pegs fit nicely into the holes staying put and not too tight either - the painted colors on the triangles and the lines on the board are all features i wanted and the colors are vibrant - does not come with bag to hold the pegs but i had a perfect one for that already - easier for my elderly mother also to grab the pegs instead of marbles - very nice looking i think to boot

Growing up we played this game, with glass marbles on some kind of board, don't recall but it was probably just cheap metal. You can find that kind on Amazon and elsewhere today.Went with this one because I did not want to have to chase down marbles if the game board got tipped or shoved by accident, and indeed it solves that problem completely. The pegs seem to fit just right in the holes and are okay sizes to handle.I remember the board being larger but that memory could be wrong, one does not find a lot of them much bigger than this. For two people it's fine, I guess if you really had a lot of people then it would be cramped.We did not end up playing really often, but it does the job if you want to get in a game. Only reasons to dock one star are 1) the size, and 2) the fact, as others note, that there is a big sticker on the box lid that probably can't be removed. For some people that might make it an awkward gift to give. Otherwise, it's fine.

When shopping for a Chinese checkers board, there are subtle differences that can really affect gameplay. I chose this particular game from S&S Worldwide because I really appreciate the little details they added to their set . Most manufacturers use marbles or wooden pegs for Chinese checkers. Although marbles look nicer, they roll and can easily get lost. I personally prefer pegs because they're easier to handle and feel more secure when placing them on the board.The board itself is 11" which makes it easy to travel with or bring out in public. The best part of this particular board is that there are black lines between the hole placements. This doesn't sound like it'd be helpful, but it honestly makes a huge difference (especially if you're playing with more novice players). For under $20, this game will give you, your friends, and your family hours upon hours of priceless moments!

This is a nice quality game set perfect for the family. It has pegs instead of balls which makes it easier for small children and doesn't disrupt the game if someone accidentally bumps the board.

I was impressed with the thickness of this game board and the size of the pegs! Very good quality, especially for the price!My granddaughter loves it!!

I love this Chinese Checkers game. It's very well made, all the colored wood pegs fit very nicely, the colors and lines on the board are perfectly painted. The wood is solid and smooth. A nice idea would be if extra pegs were included but I'm sure this is not typical of any games. I keep the colored wood pegs in a Ziplock bag. If one goes missing, then what?? YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED - BUY IT!
