The spindle ends for each spoke of the ships wheel were stained the wrong color and obviously made by a different source. The threads were not cut very precisely and therefore it was somewhat difficult to assemble. The brass center could have a square key whole cut into it to make it look more real. The ships wheel was "OK" --We decided to make it look more authentic by antiquing it.

I couldn't believe it didn't have a hook or something to hang it on my wall. I had to take it to Hobby Lobby and they had to drill a couple of holes in order to use a wire hanging like for a framed picture. It is now hanging on my door going into my Study but you can see the wire unfortunately.

I bought this for my dad to hang on the front of his shed. He wouldn't hang it there because he said it was too nice and he was afraid the weather would ruin it. But he loved it and he hung it in his living room. Well made and very nice.

Beautifully made. 3 or the handles would not screw in snug due to no metal thread inserts. Finish/lacquer could have been a little better. But for a decorative wall piece 5 star.

Product arrived with handles disassembled from main wheel. Simple assembly required by threading the handles into the main wheel. But found one of the thread sets (threads are cut into the wood of the wheel itself - there are no metal inserts) was stripped and would not hold the handle. I repaired this by inserting wooden tooth picks into the main wheel threads and then screwing the handle into the toothpick / thread combo. That worked well and allowed the use of the wheel. The wheel finish is generally good but is very rough in places. As a hanging wall item that won't be closely inspected the quality is fine. It is NOT a viable item to be used as an actual steering wheel because there is no key way or other means to prevent spinning on the shaft. Shaft diameter is just under 1" and is likely 25 mm (Vs 25.4mm for 1") so no standard metal shaft will fit

Ordered this as a next day delivery as it was a last minute present so didn't give myself enough time to return it which is on me. However, ordered the 12 inches and the one we received measured at 8 inches all the way round. That different in size, though only 4 inches, really did make a difference and turned what should have been a decent present into a piece of rubbish, that was so unforgettable because it was so small. Everyone's lasting impression was what a piece of crap. Very disappointed.

the only thing i didnt like was i thought it would come with fixings or instructions on the best way to put it up

Very nice item ,solid wood and well made .Looks lovely in my nautical themed dining room .Wall fixing was also supplied .Very pleased with it
