HawkEye Fishtrax 1C Fish Finder with HD Color Virtuview Display

So far so good works as advertised used this product day it arrived ice fishing. Used finder in 30 different holes in ice water depth temp fish icon and alarm all worked as advertised.. Only complaint not sure if its a complaint or not is that I ordered f33 and got the 1 instead but honestly think iam gonna like this unit better because of how transducer hooks to unit compared to plug in Jack on the 33.

I used it for the first time fishing Detroit lake. I found it does not display depth greater than 120 ft. After that depth, I had to use the side scale to guess the depth. We were testing this against a humm'n bird fish finder. The measurements were very close even at 180 ft. The fish we found were even at the same depth. I found that you will need to adjust the finder, when you get in choppy water. It gives a lot of chatter in the display. To reduce this, place it on the other side of your boat (opposite side of wind driven waves into your boat). The auto range would some times adjust to the wrong depth but easy to fix by setting the depth in manual. The bottom contour is some what basic but it works. It did enable me to catch two nice rainbow trout. The fish alarm is just a clicking sound but works. I never played with the zoom feature. The deepest depth we tested at was 200 ft. The water temperature measurement was right on. The default scroll speed was too fast for me, so I slowed it down a little. It works great, I would recommend it. I will be buying another one. The menus are easy to access and to adjust. The depth and water temp display does at times reduce display for fish. To fix this manually increase the depth scale. Also found that if you set the float to 10 inches above the transducer it reads better. Even the fish icon changes to the size of the fish, verified against the hummin bird fish finder. The cord has nice length to it. It takes up very little room in the boat. Buy It.

This fish finder does everything I need it to do and more. It's very user friendly and had it set up in no time. Works well and with the 2 year no fault warranty you can't go wrong with this unit. I contacted Hawk Eye before purchasing this unit to make sure it would do what I needed it to do pared with my underwater camera and the service was excellent with the suggestion that this unit would be perfect for my needs and they were right on. I would definitely recommend this to anyone for ice fishing or with a small boat.

Best portable fish finder. I use an average of one week per year while canoeing in the bwca of northern Minnesota. I bring 2 or 3 sets of lithium AAAs and have enough power to run for a whole week. Transducer works great even just placing on the hull of the canoe. Works great for targeting walleye and dragging rigs and slip bobber fishing. I even bring it along Ari and home if I'm renting a boat. Have used it ice fishing in flasher mode a few times. It's passable but not as responsive as a dedicated flasher. I decree that this is the best fish finder for the bwca.
