A Must-Read for Upwardly-Mobile Professionals
Barnes and Nobles didn't have a copy in stock in any of its stores, so I had to hunt down a copy online (an effort that raised expectations substantially). Karen Kang did not disappoint. Karen's writing style is clear, informative and persuasive. Using evidence and anecdotes, she makes the case quickly and effectively for why branding is important and the changing nature of the business world. As an independent corporate debate consultant with an expanding global client portfolio, I need to pick my collaborators wisely, control the narrative about my services and re-position myself to reflect long-standing skill sets that have suddenly become highly-valued services. Branding Pays has been crucial to my marketing and business development efforts.Where other authors lack the vision or the insight to distinguish between shameful self-promotion and useful examples of past experiences, Ms. Kang's humility shines through the text. Her selected stories have wide applications, reflecting differences in circumstance and diversity of backgrounds while still demonstrating success under varied criteria. The pathways to success are as versatile as the Branding Pays methodology she advocates.By incorporating charts and outlining step-by-step strategies, Ms. Kang opens doorways to thinking about the tough questions and keeps it from becoming cumbersome or overwhelming. Having read over 100 books on branding and career development, Branding Pays is on and shall remain on my must-read list. In fact, it should be on the must-read list of any upwardly-mobile employee or consultant with aspirations for large-scale growth regardless of industry or geographic location.

Absoluter Tipp.

Excellent HOW-TO book on branding
As someone in the field I have read A LOT of branding books, I am usually pleased if I can get 2 - 3 good nuggets from a book. This one has at least 10 . Sure some of it is common sense - and some may be standard among all marketers and branding experts. She puts it together in a great way. keep in mind- this is a robust step-by-step and in some places ( toward the end of the book) it does get a bit more complicated. Great resource for those who cannot afford a consultant - or even those who want to work with one - but want to feel more empowered while doing so.
