Will command strips hold this up on the wall?

Yes - The calendar can be hung with Command Strips. I use Command Strips for just about anything. I don't like putting holes in the wall unless it is absolutely necessary. I would have mounted the TV using command strips if possibe.

Can this item hang on the refrigerator?

You would have to find a way to attach it. Magnets adhere to the board but it isn't a big magnet. Hangs on screws mounted to wall.

what are the dimensions of the small squares

I’m not exactly sure. They are approximately 2”X2” but I don’t have the exact dimensions. I hope that is helpful!

How do you hang this board? The screws that were included are too big to be inserted into the metal hooks holes

Mine were very small, but I would suggest picking up some tac nails from a home improvement store or even Walmart.
